The biggest games that won’t be released anytime this year

Site writes: "This list includes some the the biggest and most anticipated games set for release in 2017 and 2018. Keep in mind that the list isn’t complete since we’re only including big games that publishers have confirmed won’t be released this year."

See at least I know those games will come out at some point. The ones I'm more worried about are those smaller projects that may or not make it.
Like on Kickstarter they have Nelo and Mediocre Monster. Awesome looking titles but who knows if they'll see the light of day.
I guess it's not that big a deal as my back log is more than big enough to keep me occupied.

My most anticipated game, maybe EVER, is Shenmue. I dont care when, all i care is that its coming.

reaper6023397d ago

Same here,2017 is gonna be amazing for Shenmue alone.

DigitalRaptor3397d ago

Shenmue III is going to be landmark, I feel.

It won't have the might of circa-1998 SEGA's budget buzzword behind it, but you can be sure that as we draw closer and see more polished footage the excitement will grow, and Sony will support it well as one of the biggest upcoming PS4 console exclusives. Good feelings about the progress so far.

I don't get why scalebound is on here,
he even says it himself it was pushed back to 2017

yeahright23397d ago

It's releasing a year from now. And the criteria they came up with is: "This list includes some of the biggest and most anticipated games set for release in 2017 and 2018." It fits the bill, so I don't really get what you're saying.

Hideki Kamiya wants to revive Scalebound: 'Let's do it, Phil'

Hideki Kamiya is still interested in developing Scalebound, after the PlatinumGames and Microsoft action game was cancelled back in 2017.

ZwVw118d ago

He's been begging for the past three years. That ship has long sailed. Besides, Phil's a fake. When's the last time he delivered on a game the fans asked for? Still waiting on him to greenlight KI4.

InUrFoxHole117d ago

@8bit
Yeah I mentioned that below. Although in comparison concord was a bigger failure.

MetroidFREAK21118d ago

I mean I'm all for it... I'd buy it for PS5 since Xbox is doing these multiplatform releases now

MetroidFREAK21117d ago

Well, I vastly prefer physical versions of games, and I can't do that with my Series S... sooooooo assume what you will

Lexreborn2118d ago

Scalebound was my reasoning for buying and Xbox one. Legit my biggest let down last gen

raWfodog117d ago

Same here. That was going to be the game I'd buy a Xbox One for back in the day. It'd be good if they did revive it and improve on what they had at the time.

Chocoburger118d ago

Seems odd to be asking for it now that he left Platinum Games. He'll be busy with Okami 2 for a number of years, does he expect to develop the game at Clovers studio now? Would they be picking up where they left off, or starting over again? Any of the previous team members, or just him?

I doubt Phil would fund it again, but if so, then that would be good news, also fund a new Banjo as well as Conker games while you're at it. I miss Conker!

Michiel1989117d ago

doesn't seem odd at all, he'd want work and that game even though it suffered some bad press with the cancellation and stuff is still something that people want to see (i think)

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast161d ago (Edited 161d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow160d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake161d ago (Edited 161d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Cancelled Games That Still Upsetti My Spaghetti

As a wise man once said: what be will, be will, and sometimes games just get canceled, whether it’s due to publisher meddling, a lack of funds or the creative vision simply not panning out.

Eight Days for me

Really would have enjoyed a buddy cop game with a Lethal Weapon like tone.

helicoptergirl168d ago

The only one that really bothered me was when Sony wouldn't fund Days Gone 2. That announcement made me literally feel nauseous. I felt sick in the guts. That's the first time Sony had done something that actually physically hurt me lol. I'm still bummed that there won't be a Days Gone 2.

lucasnooker118d ago

I would have loved the getaway 3! The original is still one of my favourite PS2 titles
