feeling the updated screen tech and mic, but i gotta ask... since they are already in the planning of improving the PSP, why don't they add another analoug stick?

release a firmwire update so devs doesn't loose money because of the Pirated version

Get some more contracts from publishers before designin a new PSP model, instead go and make Resident Evil PSP, Devil May Cry PSP and many more.. a reality...

Mr_Bun6152d ago

Thank you! I don't understand why they are refusing to add a 2nd analog! It is probably the only reason that I haven't picked one up yet.

Jackthepwnsaur6152d ago

it would then be considered as the PSP2, you guys still dont get it do you? They cant change the standards of handheld play until we get to the next-generation of handheld gaming, which is the PSP2. Developers wouldnt even be using the 2nd Analog stick cause they cant gimp the People who have a PSP-1000 and PSP-2000.

Xemnas6152d ago

Yeah i was going to say the same thing why don't they just put the damn analog stick thats what everyone wants.

@Jackthepwnsaur

Glad to read intelligent comment on this site, something rare. I wrote same stuff who knows how many times, but it seems people are either ignorant or..... IGNORANT!

Mr_Bun6152d ago

Technically they have already gimped them by adding a buit-in mic and making the screen better on this new version. There is obviously a market for those who want the 2nd analog and I am not sure why they aren't implementing it. They can rename it the PSP2 (or whatever you wish) if that makes you feel better, but this is the only reason I haven't picked one up yet.

Mr BUn

Are you for real dude? Do you get it that if they add second analog stick it is basically another platform? Then developers have to program and build game for PSP without second analog stick and for one with 2nd analog stick, which is if not impassible, than finacially unprofitable to waste that much time and money for basically developing two games.

You will get second analog stick on next PSP, by next i mean NEXT PSP, not revamps that improve Screen, improve battery life and what not.

Crazyglues6152d ago

yeah it's really good to read and finally see some intelligent comments because all too often I come on here and it feels like it's nothing but little kids replying to the stories...

Every now and then it's just really nice to have a good discussion that has something worth reading...

So let me just say for me, I see no need to buy a PSP and that's sad, because I think Sony should have added that second analog and make the PSP work more with the PS3, too give people like me more of a reason to buy one... if it worked more like an extra controller for the PS3 I would have grabbed one in a heart beat.

But I guess there focus is on the DS by Nintendo, trying to compete with them..

kinggeoff6152d ago

some of you still do not get it.

As some intelligent posters have stated

THERE WILL NOT BE A SECOND ANALOG STICK

Why? EVERY SINGLE GAME (YES EVERY ONE) that makes use of this second analog stick WOULD NOT be able to be played on the older PSP versions. There is no way around this. Sony WILL NOT add a second stick and render the **35+ MILLION psp's** which have already been sold OBSOLETE.

That would be the stupidest move in gaming history since the Virtual Boy.

PLEASE TRY TO UNDERSTAND THIS BEFORE YOU LOOK LIKE A MORON ASKING FOR SECOND ANALOG STICK REVISIONS. PLEASE.

please?

fck there are some stupid kids here

SpecialSauce6152d ago

i can barely fit this thing in my pocket. i like the new curves on this one.

QuackPot6152d ago

Another analog stick is needed as well as r1/r2 & l1/l2 buttons to make the PSP fully compatible with the Ps3.......and as a future remote controller with display.

fingers crossed for PSP 2.

Also, a touchscreen like the iPhone would make the PSP the king of handhelds.

I would love the 2nd analog stick. that would force me to buy a 2nd PSP.

Light Yagami6152d ago

Freaking awesome. I'm buying another PSP.

moses6152d ago

Is the PSP 3000 like a next-gen PSP design? Or is it just a revamp of the current PSP hardware?

Jackthepwnsaur6152d ago

its revamping PSP hardware. just like what happened with the PS2. it was fat, then it got slim, then they kept slimming down the hardware from the inside and making it more efficient.

TapiocaMilkTea6152d ago

What about power consumption? Is it not going to last as long?

TOO PAWNED6152d ago

Very good question. Hmm seems no one asked them that, and neither Sony gave comment on battery life.

Project: Horned Owl Review

From the mid-1980s to the early part of the 2000s, light gun rail shooters were a staple in both arcade and home system gaming. Arguably, the genre started to really hit its stride in the mid-1990s. While games like Time Crisis, Virtual Cop, and House of the Dead, among others, dominated both the home system and arcade space, some one relegated to only home game systems. Today, we’ll be talking about a little-known cult game published by Sony called Project: Horned Owl. This game was developed by Alfa Systems, and all in all, this is a fun game.
