Very cool. Totally worth the $60. Or more for the special editions.

thekhurg3400d ago

Hopefully they fix the awful screen tearing on the PS4 version that has been shown off.

Game looks like it was built with Unity which so far, as run like junk on the PS4.

lvl_headed_gmr3399d ago

There are WAY too many planets. Serious overkill.

No multiplayer in a game this big...No multiplayer no buy.

Like some people who have already played the game said....

It's boring.

Pongwater3399d ago

"Like some people who have already played the game said....

It's boring."

Some people say every game is boring. Many people like this game and are excited about it. Try to deal with that while you're being so level headed.

Dasteru3399d ago

Personally i find Call of Duty, Halo, Uncharted, Assassins Creed, God of War, Gears of War and a ton of other popular games to be boring.

Everyone has their own opinions. I prefer to play a game and see for myself if it is good, rather than potentially miss out on something i would like, just because someone else says it is boring.

PX543399d ago

There is multiplayer, unless you're playing offline. It's just the chance of meeting someone else is a little slim. But once you've upgraded your ship to travel further distances you'll be able to warp between star systems - you'll be able to see other start systems that other players have mapped out and you'll be able to visit them. So eventually you'll be able to find your friends, and strangers.
I've not seen anyone who've already played the game say it's boring. No-one's had more than 40 minutes of review time with the game, and that demo will most likely be set a few hours into the game so the character is already set up to allow them to wander about a bit.

Scrivlar3399d ago

I actually love that there are too many planets, I think they said it would take 454 Billion years to explore everywhere in the game which to me feels like at some point in this game I'm going to have a truly unique experience and go somewhere and see something that genuinely nobody will ever see, that's incredible when you think about it.

bmky3399d ago

When did the game come out. I doubt playing a demo can be referred to as "having played the game".

JMyers3399d ago

Have you played the game? Too many planets? So too much content then? Seriously can understand this logic or lack of.

So glad I bought a PS4 man. This game just looks so tasty :) I love the fact that the universe is generated so you can't just google how to become good. Excellent job Hello Games, Excellent jerb!

@ArmchairAnalyst

You also have that option. I prefer playing games on PlayStation 4 even though I have 2 gaming pc's. Just chilling on the couch don't have to really configure much. Native hardware. Easy to pickup and go, Suspend mode. Just a better overall experience when I want to get in an hour or two of game play in my opinion. But to each their own.

MasterCornholio3399d ago

@Armchair

Or he could just play the game on whatever platform he wants. As far as I know the PS4 is the only console that has the game. If someone wants a console experience then the PS4 is the only option.

ChuckTheIceMan3400d ago

Yet the biggest downfall of this game is that I can't hop online and play with friends.

JamesBroski3400d ago

That's what kills it for me. It's kinda a slap in the face to play an online game without being able to play with friends.

3-4-53400d ago

You could potentially but it's not guaranteed.

Not every game has to be like that.

Christopher3399d ago

It's not an "online" game, though. You can play it completely offline, you just won't be able to get updates, name things in the galaxy, and the like.

JamesBroski3398d ago

Well you can meet people online, so it is online. I'm not saying anything bad about the game, quite the opposite - I wasn't too sure if I wanted to play the game, but after reading this article, I'm really pumped and will definitely buy it day one - and that's the main reason why I'd like to experience it with friends. I don't whine for a game like Fallout 4 to have mp, I want to be able to meet with my friends in an online game.

ChuckTheIceMan3398d ago

It isn't a deal breaker but how awesome would it be to fly in formation with your friends and explore together.

They said in an interview, that at launch it will be the lone wolf thing, for the most part. But, if people want it, they'll add the ability to party up or something. Its in one of the interviews that Sean Murray gave a few days ago.

ThyMasterDebater3399d ago

Fallout 3, Fallout 4, Skyrim, No online functionality, Some of the best games I have played. I definitely don't share your sentiments. I just feel sad for gamers who can't enjoy games if they are not connected to their friends.

UltraNova3399d ago

I second that. Nowadays if a game doesn't have multiplayer is considered a failure or not worth buying, this is where we have come to, welcome to the future where SP only games are not worth buying while DLC/microtransaction/season pass fests are the standard.

Is it so inconceivable to do something or experience something by ourselves anymore?

theatticusera3399d ago

I absolutely agree. It's great to have a single player experience now and then. Like the good old days

Ken853399d ago

Single player games are great. Fallout 3-4 are some of my favorite games of all time. But if Fallout 4 dropped a new patch tomorrow that enabled coop, I would shit my pants. Ive never been a fan of sorta kinda multiplayer in games. Didnt like it in journey, didnt like it in The Tomorrow Children, probably not gonna like it here. It's a tease! Either be single player, or multiplayer, because this inbetween stuff doesnt satisfy anyone.

I can see spending months and months just running around checking out the mass universe in this game, looks absolutely fantastic. Glad I got the special edition pre ordered before it sold our I can't wait for this

Goldby3399d ago

there is online, just hasn't been fully explained yet.

DanteVFenris6663399d ago

Out of my top best games of all time, not one is their for its multiplier component. Online is a great extra on top of a single player game. But single player has always been the better experience

Antnee5343399d ago

Why, is a game that bad without multiplayer? Do you really have to have it in the game? I bet if the small dev team that made this put mp in the game it would have gimped the hell out of the game.

Jaqen_Hghar3399d ago

There should be an option to join up with other players. It'll be boring if you can never find another player. A man wants to explore the cosmos with others if he wishes.

nveenio3399d ago

Sean stated that he didn't want it to be about parading around with your friends. He's going for a classic sci-fi vibe, where you feel alone against the cosmos. I'm very excited to experience his take on a sci-fi game rather than the mindless dribble that's been shoveled out over the last ten years.

Jaqen_Hghar3399d ago

A man is asking for both options. Why not let those who want that vibe be alone in the cosmos and those who want all the awesome stuff of this game along with being with their friends have that?

nveenio3399d ago

Because that's not how art works.

Christopher3399d ago

***A man is asking for both options. Why not let those who want that vibe be alone in the cosmos and those who want all the awesome stuff of this game along with being with their friends have that?***

Because the game will gravitate naturally towards being an MP experience and will be graded on its ability to support just that. That's how it works in this day and age. GTA? No, GTA Online now, no one plays the base game anymore.

I respect the vision of the creators of the game, even if it's not a game for me. Heck, I do that every day already considering how many MP only games are being made in today's day and age.

No Man's Sky (Switch 2) - Hello Games' Classic Without Cuts Or Concessions | NintendoLife

"No Man's Sky - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition brings this excellent, constantly evolving space survival adventure to your new Nintendo console in fine style. This is an almost-perfect match for other versions of the game, barring some very minor hiccups here and there.

Combat is still a bit naff, especially in space, and hardcore pirates might not get all they need from the systems in place here, but other than that, this is an almost perfect port of an almighty behemoth of a game. The sky, it seems, really has no limits." - PJ O'Reilly | NintendoLife

I am tempted to get the switch 1 version.

OtterX16d ago

Do it! It's still on sale until next week, then score your free upgrade.

It's so nice being able to continue our save from other platforms while on the go. (For me, PS5, PC & VR) I'm headed out of town this weekend and I plan on taking it with me. :)

That's a nice little surprise.

Honestly I gotta hand it to Hello Games. They really turned this game into something else with their dedication to it. A rocky start, but the game is unrecognizable to what we had at launch.
