Some people say every game is boring. Many people like this game and are excited about it. Try to deal with that while you're being so level headed.

Personally i find Call of Duty, Halo, Uncharted, Assassins Creed, God of War, Gears of War and a ton of other popular games to be boring.

Everyone has their own opinions. I prefer to play a game and see for myself if it is good, rather than potentially miss out on something i would like, just because someone else says it is boring.

There is multiplayer, unless you're playing offline. It's just the chance of meeting someone else is a little slim. But once you've upgraded your ship to travel further distances you'll be able to warp between star systems - you'll be able to see other start systems that other players have mapped out and you'll be able to visit them. So eventually you'll be able to find your friends, and strangers.
I've not seen anyone who've already played the game say it's boring. No-one's had more than 40 minutes of review time with the game, and that demo will most likely be set a few hours into the game so the character is already set up to allow them to wander about a bit.

I actually love that there are too many planets, I think they said it would take 454 Billion years to explore everywhere in the game which to me feels like at some point in this game I'm going to have a truly unique experience and go somewhere and see something that genuinely nobody will ever see, that's incredible when you think about it.

You also have that option. I prefer playing games on PlayStation 4 even though I have 2 gaming pc's. Just chilling on the couch don't have to really configure much. Native hardware. Easy to pickup and go, Suspend mode. Just a better overall experience when I want to get in an hour or two of game play in my opinion. But to each their own.

Or he could just play the game on whatever platform he wants. As far as I know the PS4 is the only console that has the game. If someone wants a console experience then the PS4 is the only option.

I'm not saying anything bad about the game, quite the opposite - I wasn't too sure if I wanted to play the game, but after reading this article, I'm really pumped and will definitely buy it day one - and that's the main reason why I'd like to experience it with friends. I don't whine for a game like Fallout 4 to have mp, I want to be able to meet with my friends in an online game.

They said in an interview, that at launch it will be the lone wolf thing, for the most part. But, if people want it, they'll add the ability to party up or something. Its in one of the interviews that Sean Murray gave a few days ago.

I second that. Nowadays if a game doesn't have multiplayer is considered a failure or not worth buying, this is where we have come to, welcome to the future where SP only games are not worth buying while DLC/microtransaction/season pass fests are the standard.

Single player games are great. Fallout 3-4 are some of my favorite games of all time. But if Fallout 4 dropped a new patch tomorrow that enabled coop, I would shit my pants. Ive never been a fan of sorta kinda multiplayer in games. Didnt like it in journey, didnt like it in The Tomorrow Children, probably not gonna like it here. It's a tease! Either be single player, or multiplayer, because this inbetween stuff doesnt satisfy anyone.

Out of my top best games of all time, not one is their for its multiplier component. Online is a great extra on top of a single player game. But single player has always been the better experience

Because the game will gravitate naturally towards being an MP experience and will be graded on its ability to support just that. That's how it works in this day and age. GTA? No, GTA Online now, no one plays the base game anymore.

I respect the vision of the creators of the game, even if it's not a game for me. Heck, I do that every day already considering how many MP only games are being made in today's day and age.

Agreed. The players that are complaining about the game getting repetitive and having no multiplayer should go play Destiny. Multiplayer didn't stop that game with just 4 planets from getting extremely repetitive. Players these days are a fickle lot, there's either not enough content or there's too much. By the time players see planets and animals that look alike they'll have already got their $60 worth so I don't understand all the concern.

No, it's actually a game whose premise is perfect for a multiplayer/coop experience. Don't try to tell me that you didn't wish you could play those old space sims with some friends. I sure as hell did, and so far only Star Citizen is looking to offer that properly. Elite's execution is mediocre at best and this game isn't even offering it.

Playing by yourself is ok when you don't have friends unfortunately i do and want to play together with them on a massive open world space game. Ill just wait for another game like No Man Skys that offers a MP mode.

Their randomly generated algorithms seems to be bonkers math. It would take a while and tons of work for anyone to try to replicate that.

Seems like they are stretching a bit. Planets being planet sized isn't a thing you can do in the game. It's a thing that is in the game. There is a bit of a difference.

Also everyone keeps saying that you will likely never encounter other players BUT the goal of the game is to journey to the center of the universe. Where everyone will be at the "end" of the game. So YES if you get that far you will almost be guaranteed to see other players and also never go back to the rest of the seemingly infinite game. Which seems like a bit of a waste.

funny enough i think they removed that feature, or limited that feature. there was a showcase for the game last year i think with a bunch of people, and everything ended being named after butt or dicks.

I'm fine with the no multiplayer and the scope of the game, but I think that any combat you experience in this game is literally going to be a waste. That being said, I realize that isn't the main focus, but let's be honest...for some that will be a major deterrent.

This sounds wonderful to me. Lone wolf yet always that slim chance of running into someone, or their footsteps. A true journey through the stars. It's kind of what I loved the most about Demon Soul's. All the ghost aspirations that you might come across of other players. Feeling alone yet connected.

I'd say this game and what it offers easily justifies the cost. It's not for everyone, but not every game is. I'll be playing this...forever.

I love that their is no multiplayer. I have games I play online like Destiny, Rocket League, Nhl16, GTAV etc But currently am lacking on the Offline front.

With uncharted 4 coming and this I can curl up on the couch and not have to worry about server lag or down time. Just straight old gameplay in an expansive world.

After reading the article, and most of these comments, why is it that people still think this game doesn't have a multiplayer aspect.

Its a "shared universe", with 18 quintillion + FULL SIZED planets, literally the odds of finding someone is slim to none, even if you happen to be on the same planet.

The space is so large that Jumpdriving isnt gauranteed to get you to your destination in a reasonable amount of time that you intended to arrive.

Now your travels have turned into a guest/journey in itself.

If all 7 billion people on earth were to play in the same universe/platform of this game and each had their own planets to occupy, each person would need/have to explore 2 billion + planets(EACH) in order for humanity to claim that each planet in this game has been explored. That is both improbable and illogical

This game still looks like you can't do that much other than exploring to me. Yes you can mine and trade but this things are only for the purpose to explore further. They seem to have at least added some crafting system after the complains of people that you can't do that much in this game but we have to wait and look how deep this system will be and what structures and things one can craft.

But basically this game looks still quite limeted to me with not much other purpose than to explore, maybe it will be fun for a few hours but what is after you have visited your first few planets it seems like the game will become old and boring very quickly after the first impressions. It seem like crafting will give you no where near the possiblitlys of games like a Minecraft for example and only exploration with no real other purpose becomes tiresome very fast.
