Last year, New Blood Interactive and Psyche Studios released a top down SHMUP title called “Super Galaxy Squadron” for the PC. To it’s credit it a was a fun title a breathe of fresh air as the SHMUP genre is still what many consider dead, despite releases of several new games and even remakes of old school titles such as Darius. However the experience was still a barebones experience and it felt like it wasn’t complete, that something was missing. Well, it was and here it comes in the form of Super Galaxy Squadron EX.
Owen Chan from GameGrin writes "Forgiving it may be. This isn’t your typical “easy” shmup/bullet hell. For its price, this is worth it with the available content and replayability. A definite permanent install my portable laptop for its endless mode."
HPP: Super Galaxy Squadron EX Turbo is the best new shoot-em-up in years, and it’s something I know I’ll be continuing to play in my spare time.
Ah, the days when game were simple. Two buttons and a joy stick. That’s it. Do you miss those days? If you do and you want to have the arcade nostalgia feeling again (if anyone even remembers arcades), then you’re in luck. Super Galaxy Squadron EX does a good job with its simple yet addictive game play which will keep you coming back to play more, win or lose!
Hmm, never heard of this game. Seems really cool though.
