If you’ve been holding off on buying a PlayStation TV but were planning on picking one up eventually, you better get moving.
If I could play EVERY PS 1/2 game along with PSP and Vita games I would have bought one.
If only they put an A/V out cable on the PS Vita like they did with PSP.............. instant micro console for my 46" HD TV. Save Sony multi millions of dollars. I told Shuhei Yoshida that was the way to go but they wouldn't listen.
It can play most and it is cheap. I hear you but it's a sweet deal, it gets hate for not being perfect which is unfair.
Why introduce it and then discontinue it like two seconds later? Lol wow.
Because no one was really buying it. They even cut the price in 1/2 and PSTV's were just collecting dust on retail shelves from what I've heard. I wonder what they will do with all that overstock in their inventory? Well the Atari 2600 ET games have been all dugged up, so they can now bury this waste of hardware in it's spot. Oh well. Glad I didn't waste money on it.
Too much hardware on the market. Sony needs to avoid Sega's mistake back in the 90s. If Sony intends to compete with a focus, trimming out unprofitable hardware and features is quite efficient.
Plus casuals wouldn't understand what this is. this is more geared towards core gamers who wish to play older games, but it doesn't contain all the games they wish to play.
Surprised it lasted this long. Not even a name change made a difference.
Sony really dropped the ball on this one. It couldn't even do Netflix and they killed the YouTube app. Got one on day 1 and I've only used it a handful of times. Freedom Wars is what's keeping it from collecting dust recently.
Not to mention I can't get mine to stream the ps4 well in a room 20feet away......I bought one so my kids could play the ps4 in the other room, but it doesn't stream well
Start making Vita games again
Are you serious? Vita is flooded with games.
Sony isn't developing them though.
I can't say that I am shocked. In the 13 months as a manager at Gamestop I have yet to sell a single one of these personally, and I bet collectively my store has maybe moved no more than five units in a year. We sell on average 15-20 PS4s a week, so the userbase is there, but for the non core gamer especially it was tough to help them to understand the purpose of the device in the short window that they were there in store if they didn't come in with knowledge of the device, or the intention of buying it, and the fact that it saw little to no traditional tv marketing meant that not many were coming into the store looking for it.
Just curious, how many xb1s and Wii Us do you sell per week? OT: PSTV was doomed from the get go since the marketing sucked and almost non-existent.
My store is a bit of an outlier in regards to certain numbers due to it being inside of a mall. We almost always receive and sell 15-20 PS4s and Xbox Ones per week, whereas we may have 3 Wii Us on hand for a couple months at a time. Around the holidays we sold a decent number of Wii Us, but prior to that I went at least eight months without selling a new Wii U personally. The PS4 and the Xbox One really go back and forth. One week everyone that walks in buys a PS4 and the next week it seems as though everyone is buying an Xbox One. I have to try to track it by shipments received, and they stay pretty neck and neck at least at my store. Other stores are different oftentimes.
The moment they let us play MGS Portable Ops on it I will go out and buy one...until then youre getting nothing from me
You can play Portable Ops and Peace Walker on it? At least I know for a fact Portable Ops works on it as I have played it my self. Not to sure about Peace Walker but I have read it's compatible.
It seems that Sony puts out some great ideas but never let them run to their full potential.
Well that sucks lol I just got one for Christmas but haven't hooked it up yet. God dammit.
I picked one up back in November when they were only 20$ on amazon, still haven't even taken the thing out of the box. maybe will keep it pristine and sell it as a relic in the year 2055.
Who else saw this coming? When it came out no one cared and it eventually just faded away, like the PSP Go.
R.I.P PSTV. It was a good but flawed system with tons of potential and sold at a great price.
