It has been awhile since a game’s been designed with only one genre in mind. Adding RPG, Stealth, Platformer, and other such elements into standard Beat ’em ups and Strategy. Complex genre blending being the norm in this day in age, you can either ditch it for classic nostalgia, such as in the Mario series or embrace it to create interesting and fresh games that deviate from the industry standard.
