Tom Clancy's The Division Final Map Will Be 6 Times Bigger Than The Size Of Beta Map

Tom Clancy's The Division is set to release on March 8th for the PS4, PC and Xbox One. Ubisoft recently held an open beta of the game on all platforms which gave us a glimpse at the world of Tom Clancy's The Division.

Have Ubi spoke about the end game yet outside of TDZ? Not seen anything on any potential raids or anything other than some of the DLC will include them.

I'm wondering the same thing, what's the point of such a game when no end game contents have been revealed for a PvE game specially this close to the release date?! Is it suffering from small content offering much like Destiny? Or its no longer a PvE game? Personally I know one thing...its not a day 1 purchase for me!

some of the best gear can only be crafted, so dark zone isnt all of the end game content. there was also an interview/video about how they said they are purposely keeping things back from media to let us see them when they come out.

there's definitely going to be some sort of raid thats multi-group, evident on the pc when you can move around your hud, there's an option for your own teams and then a few extra bars above it where, presumably the other team will be in.

Juicy you're wrong, they said the fastest way to get gear is in dz. All gear is found everywhere, but since there is less risk in PVE the drop rates are lower.

Not only is it a day one purchase for me, it's the first Gold edition I've ever gone for. I rarely buy DLC and almost never buy season passes, but I'm all in for this one.

Lots of games don't reveal end game content before release, by the way.

@Juicy - They've also said some of the best gear is obtained through crafting. I think it's safe to say the endgame will be more than the DZ. They've talked about raids, just haven't confirmed or shown anything.

Rumor has it there will be raid-like content with multi-group required to complete. There was an in-game menu that wasn't used in the beta that you could modify in-game that supports this rumor.

The division is by far no Destiny anyone who has played the beta can see that, what Ubisoft have done is made a game where everything is like an mmorpg's and has all the features that should of been in Destiny.

Of course there's endgame content in the division, the story plays out, outside of the darkzone, I don't know why you can't see this already..

Whenever a Tom Clancy game comes out it is always packed with a good espionage/terrorism story. I've aged them all and I've always enjoyed ubisofts work on what they've delivered with Tom Clancy story's. You have your ai talking, got your echoes and your cut scenes, then you have you 3 different wings and a rock solid story behind them as well as the factions and there back story's and how they took control.. there will be a lot in the way of story driven content and even in dlc we will see more story driven content maybe in ways of new factions coming to take over, most likely more advanced factions.

Seriously especially since it's a Ubisoft game it'll be down in price before the change of season.

I saw certain outlets offering Syndicate nearly half off after a month. And even Seige has gotten sale prices in the past 2 months.

Seems to me like these big game companies have been fallingshort on their sale expectations. I guess people are being smart and not falling for all this $100-120 schemes with "season pass" crap.

alos. it isn't an MMORPG, the largest instance has 30 players is in, so its more appropriate calling in an MORPG or ORPG. theres no massive part about this game.

as for the size of the map, it is smaller in the sense compared to games like GTA, Just Cause and such. but travelling is only via foot in Division and there looks to be alot of building we are goign to be able to go into. its an almost 1:1 scale of midtown manhattan so it is big, not the biggest, but i feel they will win when it comes to density of the map

I know it's not 1:1, but 2 real missions in the beta, and this 6x...sure hope it's more than 12 missions or the single player will be done in about 3-4 hours for most people. Which imo would mean it's essentially a mp only game and the missions are just to get you ready to go to the DZ. That would be pretty lame to me. That's my big concern with this game is that there will be enough to do sp or mp depending what I'm feeling like at the time.

Yup. Pretty obvious they're going the Destiny route as far as content goes. After reading interviews, playing the alpha/beta, etc it's all too similar.

And why wouldn't they? Destiny was crazy successful and made a loooot of money. That's all Ubisoft wants. If they can keep costs down with minimal content but make top returns, they're going to.

I don't want this to be true. I want this game to be packed with content. I really do. And I hope I'm eating these words soon...but we'll see.

I'm just excited that there's no micro transactions. Rainbow Six Siege as good as it was, killed me with those dang booster packs and Camoes. It really irked me that people leveled up faster than I did because they were willing to spend $20.00 on double xp. As far as the map goes I'm pretty excited to see how big it is for myself. The biggest question to this games longevity is end game content. If I put 50 or 60 hours into it with my friends I'll be satisfied, but if it has good end game content I'll happily sink more time in it.

I'm sorry but it's unknown and if they say its 6x bigger there probably right as you have no clue how much underground content they have or how much interiors they have so I'm not sure how you or anyone could ever actually really know that from simply looking at the map that's like me looking at a building in telling you how much is explorable of a game I've never played.

Because it says "map" not "playable space". I mentioned the underground as a possible explanation anyway, because it's not on that map I linked.

Also, if the beta is anything to go by the interiors don't add much space. I'd love to have more access to all those buildings.

Brooklyn im sure is starting area, you can see from the soundtrack that the intro/training will be brooklyn and will have the police station scenerio we saw in e3 2013.

Also from the pc hud video and simply common sense there will definitely be multi group raids. So end game will be raids, dz, hardest difficulty for pve missions which they say are very hard, daily challenges, monthly events, free dlc, season pass dlc's. I think also Massive has the advantage of learning from bungie's mistakes as well as other mistakes made by ubisoft for a few games. Other than 3 games that i can think of, ubisoft has a great track record of making kick ass clancy games.

Don't be worried my dude. There will be at least 10 missions per wing, so at least 30 PvE missions. There will be side missions and random encounters, that are said to be increased from what was present in the beta. There's four factions you'll fight against, versus the two in the beta. NPC's will be greatly increased inside and outside the DZ. There will also be daily challenges, a challenge mode for each mission, monthly events, and likely a raid or two that they aren't talking about. The raid is speculation, but it's the only logical PvE endgame activity that would even be worth not talking about that would surprise a lot of people. And not to mention, there's likely PvP modes or something that they're not talking about for the DZ as well.

I like how ignorant some players are to actually say what you play in the beta is all The Divison has to offer, you clearly don't understand what a limited beta is. I just don't understand how you will let your mind be made up over a beta without considering all the other content that's gonna be packed into the game. Perhaps they don't want to say much before the game comes out most players have only played the beta and very few have gotten to play further on. Being the way that is I'm sure they are under NDA or some other reason to not discuss certain content about the game until it's intitual release.

Brohan, I definitely agree to some extent. Though at the same time can we call these Betas what they are, a weekend demo/server test. It does baffle me that some can say there isn't enough there or I'm not buying the game now based off the beta. Not all games can give you the full enchilada for gamers to play in the beta test.

However, I think the real issue here is that Ubi is not talking about and/or not allowing the gaming press to talk about what is truly in store for The Division; End Game. And gamers are growing more and more reluctant to bite when all too often that hype, rather, potential was there but the developer dropped the ball. They incorporated too little game into the release and pushed their DLC. Or just figured PvP was enough end game for everyone. I'm hopeful but I'm also very skeptical for what's in store long term with The Division. And the silence is what worries me most.

I'm not worried. This has actually been a pattern that a lot of people haven't noticed because not everyone plays the same games. The only difference is that Ubisoft allowed people to play a dumbed down version of the game, so now everyone just assumes it's all that will be there in the final release. FromSoftware did the same thing with Bloodborne, didn't say a whole lot about the game, then released it and everyone loved it. Bethesda did it with Fallout 4... only difference is that they didn't let people play early dumbed down versions of their games before they released. At least not to my knowledge they didn't. I think Ubisoft definitely dropped the ball here when they didn't get their own testers. I also think their marketing department dropped the ball by not committing more information to the public.

However, I think in the long run, it'll be a very successful game. At least until Wildlands comes out, then we'll see.

there's the problem. You're comparing the approach Ubi has to Bloodborne and Fallout 4. If The Division was a single player game I buy your argument. They've said enough, we know, I know exactly what I'm getting. However the fact that it's a squad based game with online features being the real selling point, the end game to keep us playing and entertained... Oh wait, yeah, if they actually announced their plans and lack of content end game they'd lose a good 25%+ of their sales. Good point. For Destiny, you knew you had Raids, Strikes, etc. Ubi have been basically mum on what to expect and we're left with rumor and speculation about Raids and other activities. Is this a simple matter of what we see is what we get or are there end game plans? That somewhat worries me. The game itself I'm fine with from a single player or co-op/squad campaign. I know exactly what I'm getting. Which is where Ubi can and how From along w/ Bethesada could hold info back for Bloodborne and Fallout 4. End of the day I suppose they don't care and know the game will sell fine so why risk blowing up the google goose before it lays that golden egg? The game itself, no worries, it's the lack of comment and commitment to what kind of content is coming to keep us playing and interested.
