Tom Clancy's The Division Final Map Will Be 6 Times Bigger Than The Size Of Beta Map

Tom Clancy's The Division is set to release on March 8th for the PS4, PC and Xbox One. Ubisoft recently held an open beta of the game on all platforms which gave us a glimpse at the world of Tom Clancy's The Division.

pompombrum3399d ago

Have Ubi spoke about the end game yet outside of TDZ? Not seen anything on any potential raids or anything other than some of the DLC will include them.

emad-E-three3399d ago

I'm wondering the same thing, what's the point of such a game when no end game contents have been revealed for a PvE game specially this close to the release date?! Is it suffering from small content offering much like Destiny? Or its no longer a PvE game? Personally I know one thing...its not a day 1 purchase for me!

Goldby3399d ago

some of the best gear can only be crafted, so dark zone isnt all of the end game content. there was also an interview/video about how they said they are purposely keeping things back from media to let us see them when they come out.

there's definitely going to be some sort of raid thats multi-group, evident on the pc when you can move around your hud, there's an option for your own teams and then a few extra bars above it where, presumably the other team will be in.

thekhurg3399d ago

Juicy you're wrong, they said the fastest way to get gear is in dz. All gear is found everywhere, but since there is less risk in PVE the drop rates are lower.

Pongwater3399d ago (Edited 3399d ago )

Not only is it a day one purchase for me, it's the first Gold edition I've ever gone for. I rarely buy DLC and almost never buy season passes, but I'm all in for this one.

Lots of games don't reveal end game content before release, by the way.

@Juicy - They've also said some of the best gear is obtained through crafting. I think it's safe to say the endgame will be more than the DZ. They've talked about raids, just haven't confirmed or shown anything.

So...Am I the only person left who enjoys replaying missions?

Codewow3399d ago

Rumor has it there will be raid-like content with multi-group required to complete. There was an in-game menu that wasn't used in the beta that you could modify in-game that supports this rumor.

weirdo3399d ago

i wish games didn't cost £50 (ps4)

ProjectVulcan3399d ago

They don't, this doesn't anyway. But not to worry, it'll probably be down to £30 after a few weeks.

zerocarnage3399d ago

Games have been costing that price before this current gen, last gen and gen before they was 40-50 pounds.

The division is by far no Destiny anyone who has played the beta can see that, what Ubisoft have done is made a game where everything is like an mmorpg's and has all the features that should of been in Destiny.

Of course there's endgame content in the division, the story plays out, outside of the darkzone, I don't know why you can't see this already..

Whenever a Tom Clancy game comes out it is always packed with a good espionage/terrorism story. I've aged them all and I've always enjoyed ubisofts work on what they've delivered with Tom Clancy story's. You have your ai talking, got your echoes and your cut scenes, then you have you 3 different wings and a rock solid story behind them as well as the factions and there back story's and how they took control.. there will be a lot in the way of story driven content and even in dlc we will see more story driven content maybe in ways of new factions coming to take over, most likely more advanced factions.

Razputin3399d ago

Zero wtf are you talking about?

You don't know of that at all. He didn't mention anything about the story being bad. He's literally asking about end game content that Ubi has not spoken of.

Where the hell do you come with this left field crap.

frostypants3399d ago

"Games have been costing that price before this current gen, last gen and gen before they was 40-50 pounds. "

Weird. In the US games cost the same today as they did 2 gens ago.

objdadon3399d ago

I doubt very seriously that this game will keep a following so large and for so long as destiny. That being said, I'm still getting it and hopefully i eat my words.

Razputin3399d ago

Seriously especially since it's a Ubisoft game it'll be down in price before the change of season.

I saw certain outlets offering Syndicate nearly half off after a month. And even Seige has gotten sale prices in the past 2 months.

Seems to me like these big game companies have been fallingshort on their sale expectations. I guess people are being smart and not falling for all this $100-120 schemes with "season pass" crap.

jon3sy93399d ago

I have never paid more than £42 for a new game. Shop from either your local Tesco or online on Amazon.

It's currently £40 at Zavvi and £42 at simplygames and tesco.

brokenbracket3399d ago

I paid 78 US dollars for my gold edition. Perks of owning a pc

nowitzki20043399d ago

Got it for free with my new keyboard

Oschino19073399d ago

$79.99 on Amazon for console gold edition. And it's physical so you can sell, trade, lend, etc... Other places have sales also, cheapest digital I saw for console is $85. Not all that far off of $78.

Liqu1d3399d ago

They don't cost £50. I've never paid £50 for a standard edition PS4 game.

£39.99 @ Zavvi: http://www.zavvi.com/games-...

£39.85 @ ShopTo: http://www.shopto.net/video...

£42.99 @ Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tom...

£42.99 @ Game: http://www.game.co.uk/en/to...

Evoluti0n3399d ago (Edited 3399d ago )

Day one Gold edition purchase for me.

Pre-ordered through Amazon for $80 bucks (Xbox One).

AlexFili3399d ago

Got mine for £29.99 on pc :)

Perjoss3399d ago

then get them from amazon for £40

Codewow3399d ago

Amazon Prime sells the game for $47, Any retailer will match the price if you can prove that's the price it's going for.

Taero3399d ago

So Gamestop will pricematch Amazon? Never seen that before.

Codewow3398d ago

Maybe I should say most. I know target price matches Amazon. Bestbuy should too. There are options out there.

UKmilitia3399d ago (Edited 3399d ago )

it doesnt, i paid £32 delivered on release day on ps4

rezzah3399d ago

Be patient, wait it out to see opinions on game length and end game activities.

Then wait for the price to fall.

Codewow3398d ago

The problem with waiting in games like these is you'll be so far behind on the grind that it's more difficult getting to par with everyone.

rezzah3398d ago

That is a legitimate concern, which I agree with. However saving money affects me more than being able to be on par with most players online.

JamesBroski3399d ago

Seems kinda small for a MMORPG

Parasyte3399d ago (Edited 3399d ago )

Look up the map comparisons between this, Fallout 4, and GTA5. The full map is actually pretty big.

JamesBroski3399d ago

Yea it's not bad. And I forgot about all the interiors locations that are not represented on the map.

Goldby3399d ago

alos. it isn't an MMORPG, the largest instance has 30 players is in, so its more appropriate calling in an MORPG or ORPG. theres no massive part about this game.

as for the size of the map, it is smaller in the sense compared to games like GTA, Just Cause and such. but travelling is only via foot in Division and there looks to be alot of building we are goign to be able to go into. its an almost 1:1 scale of midtown manhattan so it is big, not the biggest, but i feel they will win when it comes to density of the map

Goldby3399d ago

Correction, The Only massive part about this style game is the company that made it.

Please please, everyone, ill be doing signign after the event, in the mean time. i gotta go deposit some checks *puts on sunglasses*

Liqu1d3399d ago

It's not a MMORPG though.

Tumaras3399d ago

I know it's not 1:1, but 2 real missions in the beta, and this 6x...sure hope it's more than 12 missions or the single player will be done in about 3-4 hours for most people. Which imo would mean it's essentially a mp only game and the missions are just to get you ready to go to the DZ. That would be pretty lame to me. That's my big concern with this game is that there will be enough to do sp or mp depending what I'm feeling like at the time.

mechlord3399d ago

What kind of stupid logic allows you to make that comparison and you yourself say its not 1:1?

Parasyte3399d ago

I think I remember them saying some time ago that with DLC, they will be unlocking other sections of New York to add to the map.

averagejoe263398d ago (Edited 3398d ago )

Yup. Pretty obvious they're going the Destiny route as far as content goes. After reading interviews, playing the alpha/beta, etc it's all too similar.

And why wouldn't they? Destiny was crazy successful and made a loooot of money. That's all Ubisoft wants. If they can keep costs down with minimal content but make top returns, they're going to.

I don't want this to be true. I want this game to be packed with content. I really do. And I hope I'm eating these words soon...but we'll see.

Tobsesan3398d ago

I played the closed beta and was bored after 2 days. I know they didnt include all the stuff. But it gets way too repetitive.

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

shinoff2183802d ago

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

-Foxtrot802d ago

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno802d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic802d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman802d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon801d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
