Nintendo Will Announce Pokémon Sun and Moon Tomorrow

Looking at the trademarks filled in the European Market, Nerdleaks has found two new registrations requested by Nintendo itself just today for Pokémon Sun and Moon.

I highly, highly doubt they will announce a new gen when they have two Pokemon to release for the current gen, this Zygrade core thing they announced, and the anime just started XY&Z. They do not announce new generations without the anime being able to catch up because those go hand in hand. It will most likely be Z (or X2/Y2 which I really hope doesn't happen because that was so dumb with B2/W2 even though those games were great)

All that happened was a parody account was giving false confirmation of the leak and some sites were using it, but the source of the trademarks is still very legitimate. The leak did not originate from that fake twitter account, it came from NerdLeaks, and they found the trademarks on https://oami.europa.eu/eSea...

You can search for the trademarks yourself, and they are both registered under owner names of Nintendo Co., Ltd.

The problem is you did not read what they said in the story or their updates, and you're taking things out of context from what they did say.

You said it was "CONFIRMED" to be fake based on the early confirmation provided from a parody twitter account, without checking where this leak actually came from. And you said that they had retracted the story.

Both of which did not happen. All they changed was saying that it was not officially confirmed, saying something is unconfirmed does not mean it is true or untrue. It just means there is not a legitimate confirmation yet.

So you claiming it was "CONFIRMED" to be fake was wrong, no one ever confirmed it was fake, including Eurogamer. The only thing they confirmed was fake, was the twitter account used to give an early confirmation of the info. It also isn't about offending anyone, you just didn't have your facts together to be telling people it was not real.

And now it has been officially confirmed that it was real in the direct. And technically even the fake pre-confirmation provided by that parody account ended up being correct.

Been saying it for a good year that they were not going to make Z, then a new Pokemon is revealed and these trademarks happen. I'm relieved honestly, that was not only the smallest but the worst generation of Pokemon yet, I hope they step it up this time but I'm kinda disappointed that its going to be a 3DS game, was hoping they'd have it for their next handheld.

I don't mind the mega evolutions, what I didn't like was that they bumped up the new characters with them. I'd happily take 150 new pokemon + mega evolutions :)

I'd honestly have 150 well designed Pokemon and a lot of content within the map including more areas and side missions then then busting their ass off coming up with mega evolutions.

We have Pokemon, we have evolutions, we have stones and the like to change Pokemon including ones which are effected by happiness or what time of day it is...what we don't need is them wasting time on creating designs for mega evolutions.

Look at the things this gen Sony and Microsoft have produced either released or coming up this year

Quantum Break, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive, Recore, Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, Until Dawn, Dreams

Most of them are new IPs built up from scratch, not just another sequel but even the sequels they make despite the out come good or bad they take chances. What do Nintendo add when they do a sequel apart from the standard new levels? Oh maybe a new character and some brand new power ups. Hell even for Animal Crossing which comes out every so many years they don't seem to add as much as they could. I'm the Mayor of this town and I can't even remove this rock or do something without permission from my secretary...really?

Only thing Nintendo have really had this gen which has been brand new is Splatoon and it came out last year. It took them 3 and a half years to get a game like it out there.

Yeah an open world Pokemon RPG game for consoles would be hard but making games are hard. Do you think Microsoft and Sony don't think that. Hell ND chose a sand setting for Uncharted 3 because they said sand particles would be hard and a challenge for them, they headed towards a hard challenge while Nintendo would see one and go "A Pokemon open world console game looks hard, f*** that, go back, go back we'll do another handheld game"

Well, I don't think Game Freak wants to make one. That's not exactly Nintendo's fault.

Also, the sheer number of Pokemon these days almost necessitates the core games are made on a handheld. There'd have to be far less Pokemon than the handheld versions have. . . Or a very basic artstyle.

On top of that, a lot of things would have to be adapted for console gameplay. Pokemon is a very social game and it's well-suited to being able to take it anywhere. A home console game would have to be suited to playing in your living room.

Turned based RPG's aren't as popular nowadays, and even less so on home consoles. Couple that with the fact it would sell less and it makes it even less appealing for them to make.

Could it be done? Of course. Is it too 'hard'? Not really, but it would be risky and they'd have to find the right developer. To state it the way you did doesn't really relay the entire situation.

I'd love a home console Pokemon. With the right tweaks they could make an amazing game. Off the top of my head, I don't think I can name a developer I'd trust to capture the core Pokemon gameplay and translate it to a AAA home console game, though.

@ Fox: Those games are really bad examples for your theory as most of them are even only publisihed by Sony or Microsoft and not made by them. Also Uncharted, Forza, Bloodborne (Dark souls) had many entries in there series and there fomula has not changed that much as you want it to look like ( especialy uncharted which is basically the same everytime). And as we both know it takes time to make games at least 3 years and it's no different for those games. Otherwise we have AC Unity BF 4 or Total war rome 2 all over again. Sorry, but those are facts as well. Also who would someone like you know how hard it is to create games.

It's funny that you say Nintendo doesn't do hard things, but they did their best at supporting two systems by themselves. Sony absolutely left their handheld to die in order to support the PS4 only!

I absolutely would love more games from Nintendo on the scale of Xenoblade Chronicles X. But neither Sony nor Microsoft publishes more software for their systems than Nintendo. Both Microsoft and Sony have lots of things announced, but we've been hearing about most of these projects since the systems were unveiled.

Well for starters they could allow Pokemon to learn more moves.

Or even allow you to level up moves so that they can do more damage.

Each win grants you EXP that go towards levelling up your stats. But you also get say 1 battle point per KO to put towards the different stats of each move you have.

Make an attack more powerful for example, or increase its PP, or improve a defensive type move make it stronger.

You really think Nintendo is going to make a drastic change to one of their top franchises? Nintendo works by finding something that sticks and then adding small improvements, maybe throwing in a gimmick to work with their new crazy device. Look at Zelda or Mario for instance. They keep things interesting by making new dungeons and giving you new stuff, but the core of the game remains the same as it did in the 90s, because that's what people like.

None of the other games improved on the previous games like they did.

The new games either took out content that G&S put in, or had awful Pokemon design (a trash bag really??) and less content.

I still remember how my mind was blown when I discovered I could go to Kanto after completing the Elite 4. Why they never did that again I will never know.

I wish they'd just make a third person, free camera, open world Pokemon RPG. It could have battles like Ni No Kuni - maybe real time. This series is absolutely ripe for that kind of treatment. I'd buy that in a heartbeat. You could include the bike, you could even add in jumping, and I'm sure you could add in areas that would only be accessible with HMs. And of course, there's be nothing stopping them from adding a multiplayer component too. Until they make a game like that, I'm pretty much indifferent.

Why is the title spreading misinformation. We don't know 100% that's true. Companies trademark titles they want or may want to use all the time. It doesn't mean it's for sure because if there are games or a game being announced tomorrow it's been in the works for at least a year n a half to two so the title or titles have had trademarks for sometime now. This could be a hint at the 7th gen if tomorrow they announce Pokemon Z. Remember Pokemon Z has also been trademarked so what happens tomorrow will be interesting no matter what.

I love the Pokemon JRPG games but please for god sake Nintendo give the games with this new generation a decent difficulty level. I feel like they make this games easier and easier with every new iteration.

They can keep the ordinary easy difficulty for new players and just have to add an hard-mode option for the long running fans and everyone would be satisfied.
