Tom Clancy’s The Division Beta Impressions | Warp Zoned

Warp Zoned writes:

"After watching Ubisoft’s E3 2015 playthrough last year, I started up the weekend-long beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division with some vague memories of a very traditional looking third-person shooter with an online mode designed to encourage uneasy alliances. Now that I have played The Division, I can confirm that it does indeed play like most other third-person shooters, and yes, it looks about as uninspiring as most of them, too. Fortunately, The Division’s hook, “The Dark Zone,” does occasionally deliver great, tense moments in which you’ll be wondering which member of your hastily-assembled team is going to try to kill everyone and make off with the loot. And who knows? Sometimes, it might even be you."

Seriously if you people think that the actual game will be even close to the beta you're wrong. You couldn't customize, you couldn't score the other 7 abilities, the other 38 perks, the 16 skills. If you think you'll start at level 4 you're wrong, if you think you'll be able to buy purple gear from a vendor at level 8 your wrong. If you're moronic enough to think you can but high end hear at 8 you're flocking wrong! It's a mother flocking beta people! It's been alerted to give you a sense of the game as a whole!

I know right? I find it hilarious hearing people complain about the lack of content.

Plus there was no crafting.

Goldby2983d ago

i wouldn't 100% agree with you, there probably will be high end gear in dark zone lvl 1, that ios probably a level 5 gear, 30 max levels, 6 dark zones - 5 levels per dark zone, but that doesn't make a level 5 high end weapon better than everything else. a level 8 superior will probably do more dmg just without the talents, just like diablo that has low level legendaries.

as for everything else i completely agree. ive never seen anyone base a review of a car just by looking at the key and one head light. why should it be ok for reviewers to do that in Gaming. its a little slice of a game, as you said altered for the players to get the most in 2-3 days of gaming,

Docknoss2982d ago

Yes you very well could be right, but if that's the case it would be a waste of DZ credits if buying that high-end weapon is trumped by a blue or green. After transcending into the next DZ area. But also is known that the highest gear and weapons obtained will be the ones created from blue prints. Once you reach level 30 all DZ area will convert to level 30.

Goldby2982d ago

ya definitly in line with what you said, Blueprints are where the real weapons will be made, but if they ahve taken any hints/ideas from Diablo, their Loot 2.0 set up for D3 works wonders for console gaming, let pick up overall, but 7/10 times what you are picking up is better gear dmg/armor wise, its the specs that go with it which will make the difference, and from what i've seen with division, its defnintly goign to be a numbers crunching game in the end,

Docknoss2982d ago

I never played Diablo but I've been told about its loot system and I think you definitely right.

Goldby2982d ago

definitly a great loot system, first introduced on console before being brought to the pc version. pretty much in a standard 1 hour session of d3 you could get between 1-5 legendaries, not not all may be stright up more powerful but the stats was where the magic happened. putting on a weapon that does 40% less dmg yes you DPS increases from skills and buffs. hmmm soooooo nice

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno381d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic381d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman381d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon381d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
