For the love of all things good and holy, no aim assist PLEASE. Console gamers are not all unskilled dudebro scrubs.

MCTJim3408d ago (Edited 3408d ago )

Agreed...option to turn off please.

eyeDEVOUR3408d ago

That sounds good but that doesnt work either. If you have some of the battlefield an cod games you can find the option to turn it off, but you wont get anywhere because nobody else will give up there magnatized auto aim. But it could work if it was forced off in like a hardcore mode

Eonjay3408d ago

I have to agree. I actually find the auto assist distracting and annoying. I would vote to have it disabled as well.

Jonin7Spartan3408d ago

In destiny it's horrific, Like if you're trying to kill a dude & his allies go near him, it messses with your aim, switching over to the undamaged dude, its annoying as hell.

marioJP873408d ago

Makes things way too easy. I remember being annoyed by this on Splinter Cell: Blacklist and disabled the option. Aim assist and auto aim features are for kids ... literally.

nveenio3408d ago

Or for people who like story more than challenging gameplay. I, for instance, always play games on the easiest difficulty to start because between kids, work, and TCB, games don't get much stage time in my life. So auto-assist might help me cruise through, enjoy the story, the action, the set pieces, and then move on, appreciating what the developers have done without having to give up on life's more important aspects.

marioJP873408d ago

@inveni0
No, you're just a sucky gamer because you use help to complete games.

KwietStorm_BLM3407d ago

@inveni0

"...without having to give up on life's more important aspects.."

lmao you had me until you had to go Broadway drama just to make it sound like you have something so much more important, that you can't learn to aim in a videogame. We all have lives to live. But you make it sound like a game is impossible to complete without playing on toddler mode, just because you have kids.

Anyway, aim assist in single player is entirely different than aim assist in multiplayer, where actual people are playing. It's like cheating is automatically enabled, but as already stated, even if you turn it off yourself, other people are still locking on to you just because they pressed a button. It's so damn corny.

nveenio3407d ago

@KwietStorm, I work a 70+ hour week, as well as run my own business(es) and juggle a wife and kids. Don't mean to sound dramatic, but my life has virtually no room for hobby-ing. Some people really are busier than other people, if that's not too unbelievable.

That being said, it's a great idea to force it disabled in multiplayer. I'm just not sold on removing it altogether.

quenomamen3408d ago

No there are tons of unskilled dudebro scrubs on consoles, thankfully they stick to COD.

UltraNova3407d ago

Imagine how would the whole COD landscape change if Activision removed auto-aim in multiplayer?

3-4-53408d ago (Edited 3408d ago )

Auto-aim is for people who want to pretend they are better than what they really are.

They can't handle the reality that they aren't as good as they think they are, and they don't want to acquire different levels of true skill.

They want to talk like they are the best, without earning it.

That being said, this game looks like it could potentially be really fun to play.

lennyvon3408d ago

Who cares how good u are at any game it's all about your enjoyment.
Elitist folks should move on to pc as this is where the "best" players with plenty of time on their hands reside in my opinion.

3-4-53408d ago

Getting good at a game is enjoyable. I'm not talking pro level or even super hardcore, but acquiring skill as you play and getting better is hard when you basically let somebody miss a shot, and still give them the kill.

Bullets shouldn't be heat seeking missiles .

ThePresentIsAgift3408d ago (Edited 3408d ago )

PS4 has limits??!! SMH

I never, not in all my years have I seen such deplorable fantasy. How is such filth publicised and reproduced without repercussion? Everybody knows that the PlayStation 4 is limitless. This is truly disturbing.

eyeDEVOUR3407d ago

Heard that about your throat.

dannyolfc3407d ago

EyeDEVOUR you are a hero, awesome comment :-)

There is NOTHING more annoying than being FORCED to shoot a different enemy just because it got close to your reticle. Luckily most games I play let you turn aim assist off, but it is beyond maddening when you can't.

lipton1013408d ago

Agh. Torn on it. On one hand, CoD and Halo style aim assist is way too much. I'd prefer a little assist since its on console, but nothing major.

BUT, on the other hand, it depends on the pace of the game. A slower paced game shouldn't have aim assist because it'll take more time to place well aimed shots.

I'm personally hoping for an intense, slow paced ww2 style fps, without auto-aim. I love this genre... God I hope they do it right

solar3408d ago

Aim Assist, helping the slow kids once again. Maybe the dev will come over and turn on the console for you.

eyeDEVOUR3407d ago

I just pooped a little.. Gonna need some help..What? Did you think this ass was gonna wipe itself.

ChrisW3407d ago

Hey! I love aim assist because I'm cross-eyed and all thumbs

Imp0ssibl33408d ago

Hm, sounds like they're building an excuse for themselves even now. Good thing I'll get it on PC and get as much frame rate as my rig can push.

eyeDEVOUR3408d ago

You can look at it that way, but id rather them be realistic than to promise me some bullshit.

Alexious3408d ago

That's definitely true as well. Lying is even worse.

badz1493408d ago

don't be like Ubisoft!

mochachino3408d ago

Any game can be 60fps. But on consoles be prepared to sacrifice a lot of graphical features to do so

garrettbobbyferguson3408d ago

I think that should be a priority, to reach 60 FPS at least. Once you get used to it anything lower is difficult to play at and takes too much time to adjust to.

ccgr3408d ago

Looks fun, will have to check it out on PC

Hunkaloverbear3408d ago

Omg come to game preview please

Alexious3408d ago

I wonder why Sony doesn't hurry up and do something similar for PS4. It's clear that some users are interested even on console.

Hunkaloverbear3407d ago

I purchased layers of fear and ark survival evolved through game preview and absolutely loved them both. Still play ark everyday one of the most fun games I've played in a while. Definitely see it becoming the best dinosaur game of this year.

Aurenar3408d ago

They now have limitations. Last year and two years ago were the wonders of the gaming dev.

MCTJim3408d ago

Welcome to the real power of these two consoles. They are not gaming rigs and I would expect them to have trade offs.

All I ask for is to bring the simplicity and fun back in this genre. Call of Duty has lost its way and these fine gentlemen have found it.

Neonridr3408d ago

well what did you expect when all they were doing was pumping out remasters of 360 and PS3 titles :P

Now that devs have to build unique games from the ground up, especially using UE4, it will be a lot more interesting to see how devs manage to squeeze every bit of performance from these machines.

PurpHerbison3408d ago

I never buy into the limitations bs. Sure, you can technically say that cause there isn't much power on the current consoles but any real dev would find out how to OPTIMIZE their game for said hardware.

garrettbobbyferguson3408d ago

Optimization isn't some magical wand you can wave and suddenly you're pumping out crysis visuals at 1080 60fps, you realize this?

PurpHerbison3407d ago (Edited 3407d ago )

How did that fly over your head garrett? What made you believe I meant that it could possibly achieve such a thing? Optimization means, that instead of trying to pump out fanciest graphics and have the frame rate take a massive hit, scale back some things, tweak some things. There is limitations cause they are trying to do TOO much on weak hardware like most devs. Optimize the game for said hardware. Make it an enjoyable experience with a solid frame rate. Optimizing should only have a TINY bit to do with the graphics and everything to do with how well the game runs. Remove your head from your ass before you come at me sideways.

badz1493408d ago

@Aurenar

"Last year and two years ago were the wonders of the gaming dev."

the GeForce 8800GTX was the bomb a couple of years back too. but where is it now? still top of the line? I don't think so!

technology advances but consoles stay as a constant for all its lifetime, what do you expect?

Playdead co-founder slammed with lawsuit as bitter row with co-founder escalates

Playdead co-founder Dino Patti is allegedly being sued by his former studio and business partner.
Patti was threatened with a lawsuit earlier this year after he posted a now-deleted LinkedIn post that shared an "unauthorized" picture of co-founder Arnt Jensen and discussed some of Limbo's development. Patti said Jensen demanded a little over $73,000 in "suitable compensation and reimbursement," adding that he had "repeatedly" had such letters over the last nine years.

I love this controller. Feels so nice in the hand. Plus the battery lasts for days, it's crazy.

peppeaccardo4d ago

$100 ?????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????? ???????????????

1nsomniac4d ago

Yea the pricing for Nintendo peripherals is a bigger joke than the game prices. What the hell were they thinking!

peppeaccardo3d ago

i mean for a piece of slightly redesigned plastic with the same take of the last few years this has written GREED all over it ! Shame on Nintendo.

OMNlPOTENT3d ago

It's $85. The standard Dualsense is $75. The Dualsense Edge (Playstation Pro controller) is $200. The Xbox Elite (Xbox Pro controller) is also $200. How exactly is $85 so drastically insane compared to those prices?

Neonridr3d ago

the battery lasts like 10 times as long as a dualsense though.

Stevonidas3d ago

Not true; more like 20.

You may commence with your butthurt, ponies.

fsfsxii3d ago

It doesn't have analogue tho, sooo....

Tacoboto3d ago

$85 USD
or $75 at CostCo (same standard price as a DualSense)

Even at $85, you're getting 3-4x the battery life of a DualSense, and it is (by a HUGE margin) the cheapest first-party console controller with Back Paddles.

Vits4d ago

The thing is, over the past decade, third-party controllers have really stepped up. You can often get better quality, more durability, and stronger performance for half the price of first-party options. Meanwhile, controllers from Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have become increasingly mediocre, expensive, fragile, and not particularly impressive across the board. What makes this especially noticeable with Nintendo is that they’re surprisingly open to third-party hardware. That openness ends up highlighting just how much better the alternatives are.

Vits4d ago

Pretty much most things by half a dozen of chinese manufactures. Like, 8bitdo, Gamesir, Machenike, Gulikit, Flydigi, Manba, EasySMX, etc.

The exception would be really low tier stuff by those companies... those wouldn't be better, they would be about the same quality. But more durable.

Themba764d ago

Best controller I’ve ever used I even like more than my dual sense edge

UltimateOwnage3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Having used Dual Sense, Pro Controller 1, and 8BitDo Ultimate extensively, I am pretty much in love with Pro Controller 2. The easy reassignment on the grip buttons is such a big plus, but the soft edge joysticks are the best feeling sticks of any controller I’ve ever used. It’s really an awesome controller. The HD Rumble 2 also finally has some thud and the headphone jack is great with a pair of good phones. It’s worth the slight price increase IMO.

Profchaos3d ago

The pro controller 2 for me has the best weight and size it fits the hand perfect like the duelshock 4 did imo

I actually dislike the duelsense controller because of its size but the features are amazing on it.

Still as for the pro 2 no analog triggers is surprisingly something I dont actually miss

PRIMORDUS4d ago

I have the original pro controller and TBH, I don't use it as much. I'm mostly using the Switch in handheld mode with the Hori Split Pad Compact Controller. I also never use the back buttons to program anything so I will not be buying this one here, so that will be $85.00 in my pocket 😂

Very good dev length for a AAA/AA game I'd say. Companies need to set an aim for this range. 1-2 is too little, I believe 3-4 is perfect. Any more is too much. Games don't need to be these gigantic games full of a crazy amount of content. Just make a good game.

Skate-AK4d ago

Lol. Had no idea who that was, but I will admit they do look quite similar.
