To celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary, SNK Playmore has launched Metal Slug Attack, a sequel to the previous mobile game, Metal Slug Defense. All the crazy rambo-like heroes are back, including the always-captured hostage!
Mobile tower-defense games Metal Slug Attack and Metal Slug Defense will end service on January 12, 2023 and April 17, 2023 respectively.
SNK Playmore has been very keen on mobile games, and recently they released the tower defense game Metal Slug Defense, bringing the old and glorious franchise to iOS and Android.
Something else seems to be brewing, as the developer now registered “Metal Slug Attack” with the Japanese Trademark and Patent Office.

I love Metal Slug, I remember playing I think it was the second one in the arcades. I own the 3rd on PS2 and on XBLA. They need to release them on more platforms, they don't look like games that would be difficult to port or have problems performing on the PS4, X1 and Wii U.
I'll gladly but a $30 compilation download on Xbox One for a flawless no frame drop version that includes every metal slug...
This isn't the game I wanted, but SNK really hasn't been able to impress since they became a Chinese company.
