Serena Nelson writes; "If the pitch is any indication then I'm already sold on the humour of Lancelot's Hangover. There is a one-hour demo to try out if you're on the fence but I don't even have to load it up to know that I'll be laughing my ass off at every turn. The fact that it describes France as "a dangerous place, where all men are gay and women have hair under their arms", not to mention shots at Christianity and other tongue-in-cheek references, it certainly screams Monty Python and the Holy Grail. In fact, if I didn't already know better I'd swear that they were the ones behind this comedy fest."
Using the menstrual blood of the Holy Virgin to make a cocktail (in the Holy Grail, no less) is probably the only moment where this reviewer slightly winced, but the majority of the game’s 3-4 hour runtime will have players laughing out loud at the absurdity of it all. If you’ve ever wanted to steal a key off some naked horny nuns in a dark room, this is the game for you.
TGG says: "The Steam page describes Lancelot’s Hangover as “Monkey Island meets Monty Python’s Holy Grail” and that’s exactly what you can expect from this point-and-click adventure: Prepare to scavenge every location for items to then try them out on every possible character in the hopes of achieving videogame logic and drench the entire experience with silly humour straight out of a Monty Python sketch."
Lancelot's Hangover is a Monty Python-style jaunt through a medieval point-and-click, but do the jokes land? JDR grabs a tankard for today's review.
Don't love the art, but it seems like a funny adventure.
