Short Pause: "Developer Campo Santo made a big impression on me when they first unveiled their inaugural game, Firewatch. The game was mysterious and intriguing. All we knew about it initially was the fact that it's a first-person, narrative-driven adventure involving park rangers... or something. Now that I've finally had a chance to experience Firewatch firsthand I feel that, although I enjoyed my time with the game, I may have let my hopes get a little too high for this one. "

I noticed there were a ton of loading skips and pop-in during my time spent with the PlayStation 4 version. None of that is present in the PC version, and it definitely took me out of the experience with how often it was happening. I'm sure Campo Santo will address it in an upcoming patch, so I will wait to finish playing that version (for the 5 trophies :-/ ) because it did pull me out of the experience every time I thought the game was freezing up.
I haven't had any issues with the PC version in terms of loading and pop-in but when I fired up the PS4 version, it was obvious it wasn't optimized very well. I'm sure this will be addressed very soon by Campo Santo.
I wish people would stop blaming themselves for being hyped up for this game. Considering the marketing before and after its release has been, what I would consider, pretty damn deceptive along with all these rave reviews, acting like you overhyped the game before playing it really isn't fair to yourself.
The way they've talked about this game and said it had all this and that and choice matters and yadda yadda of course you're going to have certain expectations.
So yeah, don't feel like you were wrong...just see it as they were wrong with their marketing and how they hyped their game.
I beat the ps4 version last night. Encountered several bugs and graphic glitches. At one point the whole screen turned blurry until I restarted the game. Game crashed on me while going up a rope too. It ended quickly and the ending wasn't very satisfying. The "bad guy" reveal could be seen from a mile away. I was expecting a huge twist but instead it was just a dull ending.
