DF:
Looking at PlayStation 4 we actually have a rather different situation on our hands. When it first launched last year the PS4 version suffered from a lack of anisotropic filtering which resulted in blurry textures at oblique angles. Thankfully, in version 1.05, this was addressed and selective AF was implemented bringing it on par with Xbox One in this regard. Version 1.05 also modified the density of foliage in order to improve performance on all platforms. This means, even on the PC, we see a general reduction in the flora and fauna. Of course, the PlayStation 4 version continues to operate at full 1080p while offering faster overall performance - drops under 30fps are extremely uncommon on Sony's platform. Oh, and Dying Light: The Following also makes use of the recently unlocked seventh core on the PS4 as well.
It has been more than ten years since Dying Light was released, but what happened to the $386,000 'My Apocalypse Edition' of the game?
Techland is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Dying Light with updates and events for both games. The new The Beast game comes out soon.
The Steam Winter Sale is now live, and here are the best Steam Deck games you can get for under $5 right now.
So from what I saw: XB1 = screen tearing, fps drops to 19, sub-1080p and sometimes you have to reboot the system between missions to get better performance.
Ps4: Fps goes above 30fps nearly reaching 60fps at some areas which can make you a lil' dizzy.
I myself, am playing the Ps4 version and I don't really get dizzy at all but some people do, so I hope they at least lock the fps at 30.
Your best option is PC, which is the obvious outcome.
The game is great overall.
Game is great. It looks and plays great on PS4. I get almost all multiplats on PC, but I was a bit wary of Techland and got this as a gift on PS4.
Best zombie game ever. One of the best open world action adventures ever. I enjoyed it much more than Assassin's Creed or Far Cry.
I'll pick this game up on Steam if the developers finally get around to giving us the option to turn off the Chromatic Aberration that plagues DL so badly.
So X1 gets a 15% resolution increase, 2-3fps increase average, but instant-on glitch.
PS4 gets improved AF but more inconsistent spikes above 30fps.
PC is the most improved in performance overall.
HOWEVER: Game in general has downgraded foliage (though can be remedied on PC) and potentially other unspecified areas.
In the end, if you have a good enough rig and don't have any specific preferences getting in the way, get it on PC.
