This game looks really good.

freshslicepizza3147d ago

me too, here's hoping there is some depth and the controls are not sluggish.

Killz4Twinkies3147d ago

Haven't heard too much about this game.

Loving the screenshots at the bottom of the article, the character detail looks great imo... Am i right to assume they are from PC version?

UnHoly_One3147d ago

I'm keeping a close eye on it for sure.

On a side note, when exactly did "core gamers" become a thing. I can't really remember where that started, but I know that years ago it wasn't a thing. And I'm sick of it already. lol

@UnHoly It's been in the market since video games were born. Basically there is two sides to the audience of the gaming industry. "Core Gamers" and "Casual Gamers". The "casual" experience include mass market games like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, EA Battlefront, etc. These games are created to be a easy, quick, and straight forward experience for people who don't really play video games as much or who are just starting out. "Core" gaming is for the gamers who play quite frequently, and are willing to invest a huge amount of time on a certain game. Core gamers want challenges, unique gameplay mechanics that involve somewhat a good amount of time to learn and master, and vastly detailed stories and/or settings.

I've literally never heard the term prior to the last few years, though.

We'll see.

Burnt way too many times with Ubisoft lately

Killz4Twinkies3147d ago

Ya my mentality with Ubisoft lately is to set my expectations low and then be either

1. Pleasantly surprised

or

2. Move along

The game looks fun as all get out. Massive battles and there saying its just a Hack N' Slash but I think there is a little more to it than that. I just want to know if it will have single player or not. Only thing I have seen is online play.

Goldby3147d ago

i think its more to do with one's idea of what a hack and slash is, to me a hack and slash falls under the games of Devil May Cry, Onimusha, Wet (Fun Game). Where as from what ive seen from video, this would more align with a Souls/Lords of the Fallen in the sense of timing and precision. it looks to be 1v1 for most battles, and a 2v1 greatly increase difficulty. and the 3 styles of attacks, low, mid and high hits need to be selected before the attack. think of it like Rock, Paper, Scissors but with directional control on the attack/defend side of the choice.

i cant wait to try this game, those Samurai look beautiful, i love the detail on the mempos. this is definitly outside the normal Ubisoft Formula, and i feel that this may be some of their first steps in a new direction where the Quality of games, and diversity are more important than annual money makers.

Wow, this game is still going! Have not played it yet but wondering if it's worth jumping into

INMATEofARKHAM242d ago

I played it when it first came out and it's pretty solid though I did moved on from the MP fairly quick... I did enjoy the campaign and I see the game on sale for a few dollars so I do recommend picking it up on sale.

Garethvk242d ago

It has plenty of action and updates.

Garethvk242d ago

They have had many good updates along the way. There was a great one where you had to defend an attack and you could use hot oil and all kinds of things to defend.
