Dead Star PC/PS4 Preview: Star Control Meets SubSpace | USGamer

One of the more interesting games I've played of late is Dead Star. The creation of Armature, an Austin-based software studio that was founded by key members of the Metroid Prime development team, it's a top-down, twin-stick multiplayer shooter that reminds me of the very early online game, SubSpace, with a dash of the classic PvP shooter, Star Control. I spoke with Lead Designer Tom Ivey about the game, and got the chance to play it at a recent preview event.

Dead Star's Online Modes Will Shut down in November

Armature Studio announced today that the servers for their multiplayer space shooter Dead Star will shut down on November 1.

Yup, and a real bummer for people who bought the game on PC instead of getting it from PS+, as it doesn't have a real single player mode.

Dead Star Version 1.08 Released on PS4, Patch Notes Within

Dead Star has another update that has just gone live on PS4. The game has been heavily supported since its launch as a PS Plus freebie last month, so it’s good to see the support going strong.

Ratchet and Clank Join Dead Star on PS4, Advanced Pilot Strategies

It’s been a busy month for us at Armature Studio with the PS4 launch of Dead Star via PlayStation Plus, and while we have plenty to talk about, we want to kick this off with some extremely exciting news: the stars of Ratchet & Clank are coming to kick some asteroid in Dead Star across a series of community events!

Yes, that’s right! Soon – as soon as tomorrow, actually – you’ll be able to use everyone’s favourite Lombax in Dead Star, with Clank coming shortly thereafter. All you have to do is play Dead Star during the below times, and you’ll instantly unlock the respective pilot portrait.
