I never said a thing about its quality.

Unlike most of the vita defence force on here, I bought my system at launch and I'm fully aware only a few games made the most of it. I love the vita, but it could of, should have, done better

Who would of thought people could see the flaws in things they enjoy?! :D

I agree, VITA should've sold better based on games and processing power alone. The problem is, people listen to smear campaigns, they're easily swayed. People continue to spew the same rhetoric they did 4 years ago. "No games" "mishandled" "no AAAs" ect.

Aye, when Sony stopped selling the Vita as a system in the UK biggest games retailer GAME and instead sold it as a extra controller for the PS4, that was certainly not mishandleing it.

I too think people are a bit over the top in reporting the negative factors of the vita's life. On the flip side, i think there's a lot of people who are far too aggressive in their defence of the vita.

Ru kidding? VITA has been ripped for years. People who know nothing about it spread lies and bs. The reason it's unpopular is bc of the idiocy of people. So what if a few souls defend it? It deserves it, it deserves more defense than i can give.

What is actually wrong with the VITA itself? It kills the DS in processing power, has an awesome collection of games and features. What's wrong besides expensive memory cards?

Fanboy or not it IS the consumers fault, and the media. Sony cranked out hot AAAs until they realized not a DAMN SOUL was buying it in North America. It sells in Japan, does ok in EU, and sells nothing in the supposedly biggest market. I blame dumb Americans first and foremost.

Have an experience like Killzone Mercenary, Uncharted GA, or Tearaway on your DS or iphone.

Relative.

I had the OLED and now I have the LCD.

Rayman looks better on OLED.
Killzone looks better on LCD.

Brighter colors x better blacks and whites

I have both, OLED is brighter and LCD slightly more defined.

Both are equally enjoyable.

Don't bother You can never convince these people because they've been ingrained by the marketing that OLED is better or newer than LCD therefore all OLED (no matter the type, the generation and implementation) are all exactly the same (superior), despite the hypocritical infatuation of comparing LCD based on the specs.

In reality the original Vita OLED isn't as great as it is on paper, it's a generation 1 Samsung AMOLED panel, which means it has those weird 'black-spot' problems creating uneven black uniformity, yellowing as it ages due to less blue pixels therefore they are brightened to compensate, pentile sub-pixel arrangement which means the low 540p resolution is already 33% less sharp and burn-in.

There are pro/cons of the the two different panels, it depends which of the advantages you like.

It didn't do as well as Sony expected,so they dropped it. They have decided to focus on a successful platform instead, its how Sony have always functioned, move on!

They didn't drop it, people need to stop. They stopped developing AAA 1sty party games, they cranked down production on most 1st party games in North America as well.

They support the system, they just aren't pumping out games in North America. Why do they continue releasing new colors/versions if they "dropped it"? Recently Sony launched the blue VITA in North America, new VITAS hit Japan all the time.

Give me 1 other example where Sony "dropped Support" unceremoniously on their system. PS3 was struggling and Sony worked harder to ensure its success.

I just wish we could have seen more first party titles exclusive to the system. Also, it would have been nice to see some of the other titles like Monster Hunter, Shin Megami Tensei, Fire Emblem, Bravely Default,... However, Nintendo locked those up with some serious cash.

Frontier G is on VITA in Japan.

VITA had plenty of AAA 1st party and AAA exclusives up until Freedom Wars. Even after FW we got Helldivers and Resident Evil Revelations 2, not VITA exclusives but it doesn't make it any less enjoyable.

If you never had a VITA and bought one today, you'd have virtual goldmine of quality exclusives, AAAs, and indies on your plate.

That is absolutely true. I think some of those titles in previously mentioned would have attracted a lot more sales. Look at what monster hunter alone did for the 3ds. Don't get me wrong, I love my vita. It just bothers me slightly to see how sony treated or mistreated it.

Not Sony's fault, it's the media and consumers. VITA flopped HARD in North America, nobody bought it in the states. Sony made a business decision just as Nintendo is by dumping the Wii U after just 4 yrs.

Nintendo should have known the Wii U wasn't going to sell Wii numbers. The Wii was awesome and I still play mine. However, everybody and their grandmother had one. People bought them for parties, nursing homes, etc... The motion controls were a gimmick that caught on for Nintendo.

As for the Vita, it is definitely kicking butt in Japan because they are releasing what is attracting the masses and putting money in their pockets. I just get a little envious of some of those titles I mentioned above not being on a Vita.

I do need to use my Vita more. I used to play a little here and there.

I don't travel so it's kind of just like a mini-console sitting in my house that I can play in whatever room I want.

I played it a bunch around the time PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale came out but sadly I've neglected it and my PS3 for a good while.

It's been PS4 only for awhile now. Mainly because I just can't stop uploading gameplay videos to youtube and stuff like that.

The Vita shone pretty bright but most people didn't notice because they were too busy looking at their cell phones and saying how it was the future of gaming.
