Dying Light: The Following – how Techland has created a true generational survivor

Where others have long since died, this scrappy little zombie game goes from strength to strength. Dying Light is one of those games that did better than expected and survived longer than anyone would have predicted.

I thought there was actually information about the expansion that we didnt all ready know about. Nothing really written on here just how the author changed his mind about dying light. He must have sucked playing the game initially or didnt know wtf he was doing. Wonder if he reviewed the game poorly.

Best coop game of last year. It literally beat the breaks out of that overprice game Evolve!

What do you do in co-op? (I haven’t played the game at all). Do you have to replay the same areas on repeat? I heard the campaign is short so I’m curious about the longevity of the game in general. And how does it look on console because the PC footage in the article looks amazing! Thanks!

Think fallout 4 in Co-op, and then you have dying light in Co-op, something like that :-)

If you played Dead Island it's very similar to that with parkour, but much better. It is the most fun you have a $60 dollar game well spent. Who told you that this game was short? The campaign is about a good 15 -20 hours long, but with all the side quest together it's a 50 hour game. Plus if you got the season pass last year you get another 20 hour expansion to the game, called The Following, plus you have extra side quest, challenges, new weapons, suits, and map creator for PC only, and more! This arguably the best use of a season pass in a game ever! For only $30 dollars. They are about to give us a complete version of the entire game February 9th so preorder it now and tell your friends about this awesome game!

@below - Thanks!
I'm starting with the demo..

The author states "It's a game that shouldn't have worked"
What a ludicrous statement. That was a selling point and it worked really well.

Looking Back At The $386,000 Dying Light 'My Apocalypse Edition', 10 Years Later

Nobody bought it for an obvious reason.

Gamingsince1981124d ago

Wtf did this edition come with ? A real helicopter and a real zombie virus ?

Vithar124d ago

For one lucky person willing to spend $386,000, the My Apocalypse Edition of Dying Light promised a staggering collection. It included the buyer’s face in the game, a human-sized ‘Volatile’ statue, and parkour lessons with a freerunning team. It also came with night vision goggles, an all-expenses paid round trip to Techland’s offices, and four signed copies of the game. Oh, and it also came with a custom-built, ‘zombie-proof’ survival shelter.

LOL but it was a stunt from the team:
‘It was a PR stunt and got a lot of media attention for its wild and over-the-top nature, it was designed to generate buzz around the game’s release. It did a great job of getting the game noticed, though! But nobody purchased it – thankfully, I guess!’

I finally beat DL2 this past weekend. I’ll pick up the Beast for sure.

It got a lot of shit from fans more not being as scary at night on release. I was in that boat. But once I gave it a fair shot I really loved it. The movement was so much more expressive to me. I enjoyed the story too.... for the most part. Was my game of the year when it came out. With all the updates for darker nights and all that, it's even better. I feel almost exactly the same about stalker 2 right now. The erojank games are scratching my itch.
