Exclusive interview with Game Director David Cage about Heavy Rain, brought to you the day before they show it for the first time at Games Convention!
David cage is the Man! And who said 3rd party support was dead?? tell that to David & Hideo. Edit:Do you have a link or something to Sony's studios and supporters? Im not 100% sure,hell..im not even 50% sure. But i could of sworn they were a 3rd party no? (?_?)
Heavy Rain is 2nd party, like all of Insomniac's games. Sony is the publisher but they do not own the studio.
@ 1.1 But by Sony publishing they may own the IP.
Very nice, I look forward to seeing how the game is and maybe what it's about. it certainly sounds like it's going to be impressive.
I uploaded it here if it doesn't work for some people, my ad blocker kept blocking it http://www.gametrailers.com...
Really looking forward to seeing this - the interview was at E3 - I assume they were under NDA not to reveal until today.
Production through the roof it seems. Can't wait for the public unveiling. REALLY hope it is an 09 game.
yea probably late 09 or mid 09
Based on how everyone seems to release their games at Christmas I would say late 09. Seriously I would buy a game if they released it in July because there are no other games! They all wait for Christmas and I restock once a year it seems like.
Weird motorcycle women, and generic italian mobster. The Casting Demo looked more interesting than that.
The casting video? Oh, you mean the one with Ol' Horse mouth in it... yeah, but not really. Take horse mouth/blowup doll and give me the new build.
Yeah they were, cant wait for HR, I'm impressed so far.
the only hting 360 has to compare with it is ALAN WAKE which i'm also looking forward to. I just wish I could get this on the 360... I'm really hoping SONY do a price cut on the PS3 in time for this game... If i can get the console under £200 i may buy one.
What a good interview, the guy comes across very well, and I'm keener than ever to see what they've been cooking up!
i didn't like the interviewing scene in Heavy Rain, the lady looked soooo flippin stif, asthough there was glues pasted on her face or something, but he did say it was a Tech Demo, so its probably come along way, everything looks good and pretty in pictures, but the truth is revealed in videos
If you see some of the more recent videos (of just the woman's eyes for example) you can see that the animation is a lot smoother and it looks very lifelike.
In fact, we spent less than three months to put the demo together from scratch, which includes developing the PS3 engine, writing the script, making the auditions to find the actress, defining the Mo-Cap techniques and doing some basic R&D for the tongue and hair. Initially, this demo was a purely internal technical prototype that was not supposed to be shown outside the company. Sony saw our work-in-progress and asked us for the permission to show it in its booth at E3 to show what could be done in matter of virtual actors on a PlayStation 3. The challenge was that we were only a few weeks away from E3 when the request came in and had not planned to finalize "The Casting" before the end of June. ----------------------------- ------------------------------ - ------------------------------ ------------------------------- ------- It was never built to be shown to the public, so don't worry about that video, apart from the emotions and acting.
Seriously, been looking forward to seeing some Heavy Rain, since The Casting. Yays.
Sony is definitely pushing a lot of innovation for the PS3.
or maybe on day too but is mine!!! we need more games like this
We hear something from the mouth's of people working on the game next I want to hear a lot more on WarDevil: Unleash the Beast Within. So this is Sony's plan Microsoft / Nintendo try to get the casual while Sony is trying for more mature audiences. PlayStation Home with age restricted areas for adult content this is looking to eliminate kids from adults. So kids will be with kids and adults with be with adults, perfect. I love how they're not rushing the game so they (Quantic Dream/Sony) can just make quick money. Developers who do video games based on movies should try this method to actually make money. In the end I think it's better to have a longer development time to make a better quality game than rush it to only not be so good.
with the CEO of quantic dreams and his name started with an F i cant rememeber exactly, but he said that quantic dreams was working on 2 games for sony and heavy rain was one of them, He said that Sony was so amazed at the work they did with the casting for Heavy rain that they happily funded the project and offered to fund the the second game that was in pre production and had no console as a platform yet, making both games exclusive to the console. i was like wow, Sony knows where to spend their money. So this is interesting to tell you the truth, I cant wait to see what heavy rain is going to be like it. this game was already being labeled as a game that can hang with the vets like MGS4 and FF13, and that was at E3 2006. it's amazing that they are doing this with sony, i gotta say. this game will be amazing
I remember too! There were two quantic dreams games in production for the PS3! May be the second will be more hyped if Heavy Rain ends up being a success!
The jury is still out for me. I need to see the details, the exact premise of the game... As of now it seems generic, like it would be "Meh",boring, generic . The little we have seen looks good of course, but nothing that makes me want to go "WOW"... When I see LBP,Gears 2,Killzone 2,Fable 2,GOW 3 etc,etc... I get those games right off the bat.I know I want them now! I am sold on them without doubt. This game needs to show me,and I certanly hope it does.... At this time, without more in-depth details,I cannot see the extra excitement for it. Here's to hoping it ends up blowing me away however...
This game is going to be incredible and I'm fully expecting everyone to be wowed when they see it at Leipzig. Not counting the people who already have and are under a NDA. Heavy Rain has been almost as bad as Final Fantasy XIII in that Quantic Dream has kept a very tight lid on the game and only let us know a very little amount of what the game will be about. Here's hoping the game is coming somewhat soon and we won't have to wait for a year or more to get our hands on it.
So sad....we wont be seeing old weird-mouth-chick in the game...
