My Impression Of The Division – When You Get It, It’s So Much Fun

Clipping Error explain why they feel the way they do about The Division. They explain how the game's unique tactical shooter style improves it far beyond the usual casual third person shooter, and the inclusion of multiplayer when the player wants it, makes it far more enjoyable than most other MMO shooters on the market.

thats what they told me about MGS5 tooo and i wasnt a fan of this MGS

Luckily they had a beta for this. Glad I've gotten a chance to play it. The single player is fun, curious how big the city will be and how many missions will open up. Being able to replay story missions on harder difficulties with up to 4 others is nice.

With the PVP areas, it can be fun. People being people, you'll experience different things. I've had some people (who I wasn't grouped with) work together to kill mobs and protect each other as we extracted gear. I've also had the d!cks who go guns blazing when they see you or trying to shoot you in your back when you least expect it, or trying to camp safe houses / entrance areas. In those cases, find a few friends and you can turn the tide of battle or deter people from trying anything.

Overall, if they have a big enough map and it doesn't feel to desolate, it'll be a lot of fun. A bunch of customization in the game (weapons, outfits, though character creation was locked for beta so all you got was random character), replayability, tons of loot, and interesting PvP (kill too many people and you get marked as a quest for people in the area to kill [they get more rewards for killing gankers than non flagged people]).

MGS5 was unfortunately a half finished game. I so wish that the game had actually been finished.

I think my problem with the beta was that I just played it solo and probably missed a ton of things there is to do because I'm not super familiar with the setup. My experience (probably due to those reasons) was a ton of running and once every blue moon I'd run into some baddies. And they all died super easy. There was no challenge. But it's not turning me away, I'm sure I missed a lot.

Nope. This is the experience everyone had. I played all weekend with multiple friends and it's literally just running around an empty world and occasionally shooting hoodlums.

Not to say I didn't have fun, but if this is really all the game is...it is way too empty for me. Not really much going on.

I had this same experience. Part of me wants to say "Its just beta" and the other part says "remember destiny".

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno806d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
