Fire Emblem Fates gets further censorship in the West, the censorship needs to stop

There seems to be no end to Nintendo´s censorship madness in "Fire Emblem Fates". In the matter of fact, Nintendo keeps on adding more gasoline to the fire by removing the petting mini-game feature from the Western version of "Fire Emblem Fates". That´s just the half of it though. So this is my (Robin Ek, The Gaming Ground) take on the matter.

TGG_overlord3392d ago (Edited 3392d ago )

What doesn´t matter? Wait a minute, ain´t you that guy that always comments on censorship topics?

Stealth20k3392d ago

I am the guy who realizes this is 3 FE games we are getting, less than .00005% of the content was cut. Big deal.

CorndogBurglar3392d ago (Edited 3392d ago )

Even if he is that guy, I kind of have to agree with him here.

This is 3 full Fire Emblem games, all with completely different stories and content. All of which are equally as long as Fire Emblem Awakening was.

Even if this rumor is true, which it sounds like it isn't, I'm pretty sure I can go without some weird "petting" mini-game that sounds like it might be bordering on perverted anyway.

Oh well. I play Fire Emblem for the great stories and strategy. With or without the mini-game I'm sure I'll be happy.

Bimkoblerutso3392d ago (Edited 3392d ago )

It's not a matter of cut content. It's a matter of all these devs and pubs bowing out to pressure from SJW's...and SJW's DO NOT DICTATE WHAT EVERYONE IN THE WORLD SHOULD CONSIDER OFFENSIVE, despite what they may believe.

madjedi3391d ago (Edited 3391d ago )

Either him or kalebninja

Kale seems to want anything remotely appealing to the male libido censored and changed.

And gleefully endorses developers being or censoring their games.

@Eiyuuou
I thought I recognized that name from somewhere.

"It appears as if Kotaku lied about the whole thing about Nintendo censoring "Fire Emblem Fates". So once again Kotaku has been caught lying for clicks..."

What does this mean? Is the Western version going to receive the silly minigame?

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3392d ago (Edited 3392d ago )

unclear yet.
But according to the email that surface on the internet that confirms Kotaku lied.
Nintendo said they will reveal more later.

killbillvolume123392d ago

It never felt so so good using adblock going to kotaku.

TGG_overlord3391d ago

They have a history of doing stuff like this in the past. However, this time it´s somewhat unclear if they made a guess or if they lied about the whole thing:

TGG_overlord3391d ago

I had to mail Nintendo directly to check up on this. I made an update on the post late last night:

TGG_overlord3391d ago

I had to get in touch with Nintendo Sweden to clear this mess up. The US and PAL (UK/EU) version of Fire Emblem Fates "might" differ in content. However, Nintendo has not made an official statement about that matter. So at this time, we don´t know for sure. I did find this info yesterday though http://thegg.net/opinion-ed...

These leftist media sites have reached a new low. Only a matter of time before Kotaku gets sued like Gawker.

madjedi3391d ago (Edited 3391d ago )

Kotaku is owned by gawker. Among others.

Some background info.

Very interesting. Bookmarked.

TGG_overlord3391d ago

Gawker got bought by some rich Russian guy though. So it seems like the site will live on...

Hello to all! Im just starting my career as a videogame journalist writing for kumazoku. I wanted to write about this whole FE issue. But instead of writing the same thing as everyone else, I wanted to get various gamers opinions. I am used to videogames taking things out because what's okay in Japan, is not seen as okay in the States. It's cultural differences which is a major issue from a business standpoint. So I'd like to know which one do you think it is? Is it cultural differences or flat out censorship? If you are really passionate and want to share your opinion please send a message with first name last initial telling me your thoughts! Thanks :) Live, Love, Game On.

UE5 based this time

robtion9h ago

That said, I think Stellar Blade looks better than most current UE5 games.

Relientk779h ago

If Stellar Blade is anything to go by, yeah I am hyped to see this new game.

robtion8h ago

I just saw the Stellar Blade director just finished Clair Obscur (96hrs playtime). He clearly has good taste. Gives me some confidence concerning their new game.

robtion9h ago

Let's hope so. If not I have no interest in it.

robtion9h ago

Very interested to see what they follow Stellar Blade up with. Easily my GOTY 2024.

Levii_928h ago

I have 120 hours in this game..

Astro Bot was mine easily but Stellar Blade is right behind it and then Silent Hill 2.

robtion7h ago

Yeah I have around 260 hours. I also loved the Silent Hill 2 remake and Space Marine 2.

Glad they didn't change the art style. This is looking good.. Why did they change the way the characters look anyway? The very first style was kind of ok, it was fine by Risky's Revenge and Pirate's Curse.. both in game sprite and the dialogue popups, why keep changing it? I am not as fussed on her newer look. She's looking kinda too dark or sunburnt now.

I’ll tell you the game I’d buy from Marvelous, El Shaddai HD Remaster for PS5.

jznrpg2d ago

Sawaki Takeyasu said it was in development in fall of last year but haven’t heard anything since. Hopefully it’s still coming

FinalFantasyFanatic1d 19h ago

I didn't even know Farmagia was a Marvelous game, I wish we could get that Senran Kagura S7ven game, but Sony/Playstation pretty much killed any chance of that happening.
