Homefront: The Revolution will feature an epic single player campaign with 30+ gameplay hours of longevity, according to the Game Director.
That is good to hear, at least you will feel like you are getting your moneys worth out of the game!!
Hey I am star wars battlefront and find this offensive. ..
Hey I'm Evolve, my cousin Titanfall says his brother Rainbow six: Siege says "Get outta here"... OT: Wow I hope this game turns out to be good. I haven't bought a fps in ages!
Thats good, though I hope it is a bit more fresh compared to the last Homefront outing.
I actually enjoyed Homefront, but i got it at cost so...
It better be 30 actual hours of meaningful content and not just filler. I hate filler in games just to justify me playing for hours.
That's definitely true, hopefully there won't be many "fetch" side quests.
Modern FPS campaigns should follow Wolfenstein TNO's example. The reason why this is going to be 30 hrs is bc it's an open world FPS ala Farcry. Unless DS changed that?
I'm actually looking forward to Homefront 2. The first game was average at best, true, but I played it enough. This, being in the hands of Crytek UK (Dambuster Studios now) should be good, have a nice British sensibility to it! That and you need to remember that Dambuster used to be Crytek UK which used to be Free Radical, and Free Radical made Timesplitters!
Thanks for reminding me about free radical! Looking forward to this game!
Free Radical also made Haze. I was so excited for this game until Crytek had its problems, now with all the delays and the chaos i fear it will not reach its full potential. I'm still going to buy it , just as i'm going to buy Dead Island 2. I know DI2 lost its developer completely and Homefronts was more or less just reshuffled, but it's unnerving. The gameplay i saw wasn't real pretty, i worry that HF2 will mirror the original in many ways. Dead Island is a shame btw, DS should've just just kept Yager on and forced them to make a sp narrative. The game looked beautiful and it was running well, they put the hard work in, just figure it out. Where was the communication? I expected more from Deep Silver, they better hit with Homefront (Homefront is Koch Media basically in the same family).
the first chapter was disgusting. I hope that this will make us forget.
Yeah, the first one was bad. Though MP was interesting.
I completely agree with @ShinnosukeRFD @Alexious This better be freaking good 30+ hours that keeps you interested from 'story' moment to STORY! moment, no filler shit just to say the game is long... Don't even come at us with that [fu]ckery business. I don't give a damn about finding a rare item to achieve a trophie, I want a cinematic gritty urban warfare tell about the every day people fighting for their freedom back in a changed world.
It's not a linear FPS, it's like Farcry. The reason it's long is bc it's open world, if you think a game like Farcry has filler then you will likely feel the same about Homefront. I like the idea personally, not a lot of open world FPS. I just hope there is enough quality narrative.
30 hours campaign and coop! Finally a FPS that is really worth $60 bucks!
I really enjoyed the first game. One of the first to show off DirectX 11 all those years ago.
Yeah the DX11 implementation was great. The game performed so much faster with DX11 on.
This one will be on Cryengine (3?) I believe, I'm sure it'll look great as well
Thanks for this article just made this game a day one buy after seeing there adding 20 free missions to the coop resistance mode I always love a good horde mode. Here's to hoping that this is the sequel to freedom fighters that I have always wanted
SWEET , Good to know
Okay, totally peaked my interest again, especially with all the follow up support. Have to put it on my watch list.
This will be my Black 2 that was never made :(
The original wasn't as bad as ppl claimed, it had atmosphere and solid gunplay and decent mp. It looked muddy on console, but i appreciated what they were going for and the sp actually had some intriguing and brave themes. It had its moments. This is why HF2 is so intriguing, it's a chance to really do the ip justice, there's a lot of potential in this ip. Philly is a unique setting for a game and the with the open world FPS idea and the terrific atmosphere of the original it could be special. Unfortunately the gameplay i've seen hasn't looked all that Crytek-like, it's not particularly impressive visually. We'll see, i'm still extremely interested.
