This is why it was gonna be impossible for the Xbox One to beat the PS4.

DarkOcelet1534d ago

How do we know if Xbox One did really reach 19 million units sold?

Wasn't it reported that it was at 18 million two weeks ago?

VGChartz need to readjust their numbers.

Eonjay1534d ago

No one really knows. The most reliable guess was 'around 18 million' which isn't very reliable at all. So thats all we have.

@DarkOcelot did you read the entire report you are referencing or are you on your daily horse and carriage crusade to knock Xbox One. LMAO

Also now VGchartz is considered a trusty source when it comes to PS sales articles. The Hypocrisy continues.

Kiwi661534d ago

It was just over 19 million in an article a few weeks ago

No Sony is considered a trusty source where numbers are concerned. VG is close to actual PS4 numbers because they continually adjust their numbers to reflect Sonys.

With Microsoft all we have is NPD and Mediacreate which isn't much.

Your turn.

And the PS3 was $500/$600 wow

Hercules1891534d ago

Was it really still 500 after 2years. Besides Sony is still a much more marketable than Microsoft in the console arena. The same reason the iphone is much more popular than a galaxy, having a whole generation of fans with only minty as a competitor is a difference maker. If micro had a console to compete with ps1 it would be split more evenly. The fact that the Xbox one is on par with PS 3 in sales means xbox is far from being considered a failure.

Ruggadagod1534d ago

I think it had dropped by then, but I'm not sure. It was still expensive in other countries even 2 years later though.

And the world economy was red hot in 2006 when the PS3 released, right up until 2008 before the world recession. Todays economy is nowhere near as good as it was back then.

Bathyj1534d ago (Edited 1534d ago )

Things Ive heard on the internet.

XBOne is well outselling the X360.

XBOne is not outselling PS3.

PS3 didnt sell well in its early years.

2+2=5

Something does not add up.

MegaRay1534d ago

Hey, its not our fault that MS lie/mislead people with their PR talk. Dont take the "Xb1 sell better than X360" as a fact, not until we get numbers from MS.

And before people attack me for being a "fanboy" and tell me XB1 is great console and blabla, this is a sales article.

BitbyDeath1534d ago (Edited 1534d ago )

Yep, PS3 started roughly 10m behind the 360 and didn't overtake it til much later in its final years.

Edit: Found a post on GAF that should clear it up.

PS3 was ahead same point in time @21.3M
360 was around 17M I believe.

I love how this website has resorted to comparing Xbox One sales to PS3 sales because it's no contest with the PS4.
