Why Do We Do This to Ourselves? Hardcore Games and Why We Love (to Hate) Them

"Every game has its tough spots, rather that be a throwback from the Super Mario days to games made today, there will always be a few spots where the trouble starts mounting. This is what gets our blood pulsing, our hands sweaty, and our minds as sharp as any gamers' mind will ever be, then it happens. You die for the 24th time and you start to wonder why you are even playing the game anymore. This happens to all of us at one time or another, but why do we put ourselves through such a struggle just to continue with the game that has completely destroyed us for a solid 2 hours? This question has been on my mind for days now, and I'm finally understanding why we put ourselves through such torture."

I always think the same when I've turned my console off in rage! But it always ends back on again when I've calmed down.... curse you!!!!

It always seems just a bit easier once I calm down a bit and go back to it after a while! It seems bosses are so much easier to beat coming back fresh from relaxing for some reason, I can't explain it but that's what I do when a boss just seems too much to handle, I say it works about 80% of the time.
