Short Pause Podcast #56: More NX Rumors, Destiny 2 Delayed, & Is The Witness Coming to Xbox One?

Technical issues can't hold a good podcast down! Against all odds, Episode 56 of the Short Pause Gaming Podcast has arrived! Brent, Ben, Bender, and Frankie get together once again to discuss the latest and greatest in the world of gaming. The topics this week include:

- More NX Rumors - The NX rumor mill continues to churn at full-force, as 4K streaming, an online subscription service, and another mention of a console/handheld hybrid all surfaced as part of a leaked GFK survey in relation to Nintendo's mysterious new console this past week. How legitimate are some of these leaks?

- Destiny 2 Delayed? - A Kotaku report claims Destiny 2 (or whatever it will be called) is no longer on track for a September 2016 release. If this is true, how long can the eagerly anticipated sequel possibly be delayed?

- The Witness on Xbox One? - The Witness has been rated by the ESRB for Xbox One. Don't get too excited though, Microsoft fans.

Even though everything we've heard to this point is rumor; the more we hear about this thing, the more you can sort or piece together what it could be. I wouldn't say I was hugely disappointed with the Wii U - my expectations were pretty low when I picked one up - but I'm really excited about the opportunity that Nintendo has here to start fresh with the NX. Strong online features (achievements, friends system from 2006, etc), focus on third-party support, and the typically strong first-party titles are all reasons to be excited. Hopefully Nintendo will start to release some confirmed features and specs soon, because I'm really curious to see where they go with this.

It's pretty cool to see The Witness reviewing so well, lots of 100's out there (with exception to those who docked the score because it was too hard?). Jonathan Blow is a the type of developer I'll always get behind simply because he's so passionate about perfection and releasing an optimized product. He's also very passionate about his games in general; when he posted a "Thank You To Gamers" on the PlayStation Blog, you could tell he's a very humble guy and he takes a lot of pride in his work. Braid was brilliant on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and this looks to be his next masterpiece. Hopefully it does well enough so he can start working on an Xbox One port, everyone should have the opportunity to experience his games.

absolutely. The more people that get to enjoy a game like this, the better. Regardless of which platform you support.
