Nine years later and almost all of the guns on Halo 3's battlefields are silent on the Xbox 360. The spirit of the game lives on in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Well, this shows that people who are playing Halo have understandably moved on to the Xbox One.
Or Reach on 360:P
Who approves these articles? That would be the telltale sign of why these moronic articles about Xbox/Halo keep popping up. An Xbox 360 game that came out in 2007! Woohoo! Must be slow news day.
@Unspoken It's not an official site or anything. Essentially anyone with an opinion can type up an article. Hence all the garbage and clickbait you see everyday.
Yeah, but certain folks in the community can also approve or find ways to disapprove certain articles leading to further bias. It's comical. And that's not even getting into the one-sidedness of some moderators on here.
Or just that people aren't playing it anymore.
Na its halo, people still played this game after 5 years it came out..
Lol there was a solid 350 people on the Halo 3 pc version last night. Such a fun game tho Incase you had a "huh" moment https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Halo 3 was all I played on 360 Thank you...downloading this right now!
Master Chief Collection, Halo 5: Guardians
Yeah lol its been a decade and TMCC and Halo 5 are out. What were you expecting?
Lol right. How many years has it been since it released. I can see if it came out this year
I was actually surprised when I saw the headline because if I'm honest Halo 3 in the MCC is broken. Now did halo 3 have its share of issues, sure, but the game still felt playable. In MCC though, it adds even more issues with aiming and latency, so much so that I find MCC Halo 3 unenjoyable, and I played Halo 3 for years even after reach had come out.
By far my greatest gaming memories happened on this game. Never forget Halo 3. Never again will there be another game like it. Halo 3 was the definitive peak of the series and it kept a strong population even after Reach came out 3 years later. Halo 3 was a cultural phenomenon and Halo will never be able to recreate that. I'll miss you old friend.
Playing Infection on the Custom map Trains was so much fun.
Halo 3 offered literally the perfect mix of competitive and casual play. I could be playing MLG all day then once my friends came on we'd be playing Jenga, Duck Hunt, Zombie Defense, Left 4 Dead, Trash Compactor, etc. It'll be something I'll always look back on as something I grew up with and was a game that was more than a game to me. I'd still play Halo 3 over any other shooter including Halo 5 to this day.
@Paytaa I totally forgot about Jenga lmao having random junk launched at you while trying not to fall off.
Indeed. I loved playing Jenga on Standoff. I loved playing dodge the junk on foundry, I loved making the elephant fly on sand trap. So many great memories and hundreds of hours of playtime with all things, infected, shotty snipes, Duck Hunt, Michael Jackson, and plenty more that I will miss dearly.
Halo 5 has the best multiplayer though
Halo 5 has REALLY good multiplayer and it's arguably the best FPS I've played mechanically since Halo 3 but classic Halo is now a niche left untouched. That type of gameplay is now gone and it sucks because in my opinion that was the perfection of the FPS. Halo 1-3 is still my benchmark for the FPS genre. Games are timeless to me.
Is it me or does halo 5's overshields seem stronger than past halos?
@81BX 2 Shot guns up close, or assassinate from behind and it may as well have no over-shield.
@mynd Assassinating someone with OS is one of the few things 343 brought back from Halo CE where it was a one hit kill from behind. I think it's more balanced in Halo 5 than past Halo games
@paytaa Assassinating an OS guy has always been a one hitter, maybe Halo 2 but I know for a fact 3, 4, Reach all have back assassinations. Also OS is OP as heck in 5 IMO especially compared to previous OS, whether that is bad I don't know considering power weapons are used for map domination if you look at it from that perspective it is just a tactical point to take advantage of
Ur Making me emotional man if i think about halo 3 i think about the best game ever that introduced me to peoplei still play with 8yrs later i was always laughing while playing this
"Of course almost all of the content to be found in all 4 previous entries in the Halo franchise is accessible on the Xbox One via the Master Chief Collection, but at the time of writing I don’t own one of those." sorry to hear you can't play it on the XBox One. One thing intrigues me, this article makes it seem like Halo is not popular anymore, when its far from the truth., It may not have the following it did when it was on the OG or 360, but for those that bought the X1, We all play Halo be it on the MCC collection or Halo 5 where the multiiplayer is fantastic.
I can still find matches on Warhawk, which is also a game from 2007. Seems like the Halo 3 fanbase migrated over to Halo TMCC
Damn man that's sad. I loved Halo 3 online and I'm not even a big Halo fanatic. Bungie put a lot of passion and heart into Halo 3 multiplayer. I can just tell and feel it. It's more fun than Destiny to me I couldn't get into that game. My friend loves it though.
Reach > Halo 3
Maybe in some weird parallel universe yeah
In that case Halo 1 > Halo 3
@TheColbertinator That I agree with. Halo CE is and always will be my favorite game of all time.
Halo ce on pc was so good I loved being a part of the modding community
Halo 3 at its peak> Halo Reach Halo 3 had a killer community and a developer that supported it. Halo Reach was not touched up until like a year after launch and the community was barely ever recognized because there was no dev behind the game. Halo Reach was a better game hands down once Halo 3 ended its golden age. It had more content, modes, was a spin off that did new things. It is a unique Halo game made at a unique time and a bad one. Sadly the game does not hold up well with MCC and Halo 5 due to 30 fps and very poor performance on Xbone. Forge World will forever be the best sandbox of all time. My buddies and I would spend hrs just fn around in forge, however the community was less connected and out of touch. Bungie understood what made Halo special, and so far I think 343 don't get it. They did the arena well but everything else is mediocre and alot even nonexistent
Reach was my favorite Halo of all time, lots dont like it though. But we can all agree its way better than 4 and 5.
Why is this an article...
I tried getting into an online game of Bad Company 1 on the 360 and couldn't find a game. Should I write a blog? The people, they must know.
It gives the Xbox another kick in the guts , something I have noticed here a lot , there is no good news about anything Xbox .... Imo on this site.
lol it's a 9 year old game, and still plays fine. I literally just played on my 360 last week and didn't have much of a problem connection, it's naturally low in population but not a ghost town. Plus the game is still alive in Mastercheif collection...
Yea it just goes to to show there's still a lot of people who haven't migrated over to current gen
Wow!!! It's amazing that it took 9 years...Halo 3 wasn't even the best MP in Halo
Ehhh every map for halo 3 was classic....vanhallia, last resort, high ground, gurdian, sand trap, I mean the list goes on and on....best halo mp for me
No sht sherlock, the game came out in 2007 and now we are in 2016 with a new console and 4 new halo games (ODST,4,MCC and 5). Alot of the younger players dont like the mechanics of halo 3 because its too "slow" and moved on to halo 4 or 5. Most veterans are playing the MCC right now with over 100 maps and updated visuals.
Maybe because Halo 5 is out now? And this game is a decade old?
