What Wii Might Have Missed

TGC writes: With Wii U not too far away now, it’s time for us to get all nostalgic and look back over the last six years, during which the Wii went on to become a worldwide phenomenon against the expectations of many. It has had its share of troubles, a struggle to gain acceptance among the enthusiast community and largely shunned by third party developers. Excite Truck is a blast to play, I got it as a pack-in with my Wii on Launch day. I didn't expect much when I turned it on, but it was a heck of a lot of fun.

Red Steel 2 is an incredible game, and I encourage everyone to give the game a go. Totally underappreciated gem. It definitely removes the sour taste the first one left in my mouth.

Excite Truck remains the reason why I kept my Wii. Astonishing game that people ignored on the basis they thought they knew best. Gamers are a dumb bunch at times

While not as difficult or elaborate as Mario's big budget romp through the Mushroom Kingdom, Wario's 2-D extravaganza is a beautifully simple and addictive effort with attractive graphics and plenty of secrets. Even better, GameStop sells it brand new for $19.99."
