I Finally Bought 'Ark: Survival Evolved' On Xbox One, And I Want A Refund

I’ve never quite understood the whole early access thing. I’ll play the thing once it’s done, I figure, and I certainly won’t pay for it until that point. I get it from a developer perspective: it helps fund development, provides constant testing and all that, but it’s just never appealed to me all that much from a payer perspective. Ark: Survival Evolved, however, has piqued my interest for a little while, and I figured I’d give it a shot now that it was out on Xbox One. In case you didn’t get the gist from the headline, it didn’t go all that well.

Why? Because I have the feeling they hate the PS4 too, way too many negative articles. The PS4 is my main gaming platform so it's something I tend to see easier, yours is probably the X1 and you notice the X1 negative stuff easier.

Ark isn't an XBO exclusive though so I don't really follow your logic...considering it will hit on all platforms & that it is meant to be a VR title, I'd say Sony actually has more riding on this title than any other platform as its meant to be something to bolster not only their consoles but their big new peripheral push.

Could be the guy just doesn't enjoy the game. People place different importance on different things, first we see gamers say resolution doesn't matter & its all about the stable frame rate, now we hear people saying in regards to this game that frame rate doesn't matter, performance doesn't matter & visuals don't matter, it is now all about the nebulous "fun factor". Ultimately all that matters to a gamer is his own personal experience, as it should be...but journos need to also work in absolutes, and bad performance is something that should be pointed out, doubly so if gamers are potentially dropping money on something. Forbes is definitely a pretty subpar site especially in terms of gaming, but in this instance the opinion is one worth putting out there for potential buyers on XBO & PC and as a warning for potential future buyers to check on the game's reception on release.

Lol he wants a refund. I use the game as a good excuse to go buy a second xbox one for a dedicated server and I have been having a blast. Hate the latest patch that nerfed melee to nothing on my Dinos. But breeding some new ones with higher stats to compensate. The game is fun. And runs amazing for an alpha compared to other alphas I have played.

Same here second XB1 is on its way maybe the Elite and use my Day1 as a server. I suggested to @jointheark on tweeter that many of us have a spare PC or a Laptop but few have a spare XB1, that maybe they can allow us to use a PC to use as a Dedicated server snd that way relieve their servers bit i didnt get an answer....

Really? the suggestion should be made to purchase a second console in order to play one game? A lot wrong w/ that idea. If games need a second console to run properly, someone needs to take a second look at their games, or consoles should start releasing in pairs.

Lol this guy really wanted to rant about something. Listen you tool, you don't need a second Xbox to do anything but host your own server. If you wanted your own server for battlefield 4 you would need to rent one from a company that rents out battlefield servers on Xbox. This feature let's you run your own for free, if you have the hardware to do so. It's a very consumer friendly feature.

Never Buy a early access game. Since the game is still in the work you never know what can happend. Its not optimised for different GPU's and CPU'S so basically you can fry them. Wait instead

LMAO games fry GPUs and CPUs, what a ludracris assertion, when components run hot THEY SLOW DOWN to prevent heat damage (you see this as drop in FPS).

Old or fauly components, electrical surges, overclocking or dust blocking fans... these are legitimate reasons for fried components not playing a damn video game HAHAHA

Even though I agree that the state of the game is quite poor on the Xbox One, there is a trial for the game. I thought I'd give it a go, as the game runs like ass on my PC (GTX 980), plus it would give me the opportunity to play with more friends. But within 2 minutes of playing the trial, I deleted it. Clearly it's got a long way to go. Next time, when a game has a free trial or a demo, use it.

then dont buy it.. its cleary stated the game is a work in progress which includes bugs and an incomplete experience, server wipes, complete change in features. and you want a refund now ? dumbass

Somebody tell him you can kill fish and cook them at the campfire. You can get about 4 steaks or fillets from one. Axes and picks net different materials from the same resource. Great game though. Maybe he should reinstall the game and try again

Paying to be a Alpha/beta tester. Biggest scam on PC is now on consoles. Not all are bad, but most are.
