Ark Survival Evolved Preview I The Video Games

Ark: Survival Evolved is the what you call a survival game, every aspect of the game is SURVIVAL.

Downloaded the preview on XO, played and unistslled. It's now archived as a game I'll never play again.

I don't have an XO so I can't play it yet, but what didn't you like?

I'll admit I'm not a master of the crafting/ Minecraft genre. However as far as engrossing and gameplay, I found the game not able to hold my attention. Minecraft, Lego Worlds even held my attention a lot better and for a he'll of more time than this game. Also there is an overall unpolished look and feel to the game that really disconnected me from the experience. By contrast Shelter (another preview game) and State of Decay as buggy and wonky and unpolished as it is I feel are better products. The Dino novelty is not a pull for me.

I felt that the first time i played it but then i put more into it and it's actually a tidy game. Don't get me wrong messy at times but fun.

That is, what I fear is the issue with buying these unfinished games.

I'm perfectly happy to wait and get the complete edition when a developer's vision has been satisfied, rather than play something sub-par for so long that I get bored of waiting for an amazing game. If this was a beta, then I could understand, but "early access" games on PC never agreed with me and the concept continues to rub me the wrong way.

At the moment it runs at something like 1000x600, I really hope they can do something about that before launch!

i found the lack of tutorial very annoying, just dropped in a game with no hints/tip to get you going and then told i'm too hot ( well thank you ) but no help to say find shade, use a fan, jump into water

a lot of potential just needed help to start with i think
