Twinfinite: "A lot of people were annoyed when Splatoon locked 60 single-played missions behind the game’s amiibo (20 missions per figure), because it meant they were missing out not only on extra gameplay, but weapons, outfits, and mini-games that were exclusive only to the amiibo missions. Similarly, when you tap the Link amiibo in Hyrule Warriors you unlock the amiibo-exclusive Spinner weapon. Fans of the game who didn’t want to dish out $13 for a toy they didn’t want were upset in the same way."
A Xenoblade Chronicles PC port has been listed by Microsoft as an officially supported Microsoft Game Assist title.
Hmmm interesting. Hopefully true, liking the slowly but surely partnership between the big 3. Just imagine all the xenoblade games officially on pc. I think mcsft going 3rd party but still making consoles fits them.
Retailer listings indicate that there'll be a price increase for various Nintendo amiibo that have been announced for 2025.
$40 is absolutely ridiculous. $15 made sense, but you can literally get full on games for $40… what in the hell is going on?
The ill-fated Wii U sold very few units, so it is understandable if you missed out on Xenoblade Chronicles X, here are 9 reasons why you should play the Definitive Edition.
I bought it thinking it was like the trilogy and expansion on Switch. I played it for 15 or so hours and stopped. Couldn't get into it, the gameplay was not like the previous ones, it was not what I expected.😕
Greatest RPG ever except end game makes it impossible to complete for anyone who focused on mech battles. Do not focus on mechs or you will be disappointed
- Search for a friend with Amiibo.
- Use it to unlock.
- ?????
- Profit.
Of course many people still think that paying directly for it without asking if a friend have a toy is better.
PD: A lot of companies these days use DLC, in Nintendo's case usually is optional. You wont die for not having a weapon (plus, in Splatoon the weapons were replicas of normal weapons). And still, the DLC still costs money. I mean, I can pay $13 for a weapon / character in other games, or I can pay $13 for a weapon / character and get a figure to put on my desk.
Same s*it, different package.
If I could get away with selling toys to idiots so they could unlock a shirt on their game I'd do it.
I'd rather pay $13 ($10 with GCU) for in-game content that isn't locked to one online profile and be able to share it with friends as well as a cool figure than paying $10-13 for just DLC that is locked to one profile/system.
Maybe make them memory cards. People already will buy them for rarity alone.
Don't blame Nintendo. Blame the consumer for heavily supporting it.
The only Amiibos I have in the house are Mario, Link, Samus and Marth. Also Peach which my little sister own and Mario and Link are mines and my older brother has Samus and Marth.
So anyone who supported the Splatoon amiibo are at fault.
