Lol, no Uncharted 4? I do not care console or PC (have a 980 ti for clarification), this game deserves to be on any list. Even playing the multiplayer beta, which will be far from what the single player is, the animation system alone blows everything out of the water.

This article has a plethora of problems, but I think something people often overlook is the beauty in things other then polygons or art style. The layered animations Naughty Dog does, on top of contextual animations, flat out puts other devs to shame. As things continue to evolve, the subtleties are going to be what matters. Voice acting has taking a huge leap, the next major leaps are going to be animation, ai, and environmental interaction.

We already have an example on these major leaps you are talking about in the name of The Last Of Us, with the exception of the AI which was just ok but not great.

One other area of we gradually see improving in a major way is lighting.

No joke...and yet they put on Rise of the Tomb Raider, a game released last year & Mass Effect, a game literally no one has seen in motion. We have seen actual gameplay from the games you listed and they all look amazing, definitely head & shoulders above some of the titles on this list. I may be in the minority here too but Star Citizen doesn't look to special to me. Seems like people are solely hinging their opinions of the graphics as tempered by the size of the world. The animations are janky, the framerate has plenty of issues & the art design isn't really all that compelling to me. The size of a game's world shouldn't have any bearings on the achievement of the visuals imo. If we are judging solely off of gameplay in motion & not a dozen different caveats, games like Uncharted 4 just simply look better to me personally.

I get that it isn't best graphics, but best looking. That said, Uncharted 4...are you kidding me?
And we have not even seen ME yet. I'm sure it is pretty but we don't know yet.

And if it's art style too, where is Persona 5? Where is FF15?

I know it's an opinion piece, but a better article would have been, "Let's look at all the differnt beatiful games coming across all platforms this year".

As someone who has played video games since the sega genesis was still hot, it feels like graphics don't surprise me much anymore. As long as it's competent for that hardware it's running on and I can see what I'm doing while I'm playing without hurting my eyes I don't care.

I agree...I game for over 30 years and recently starting to get bored...that's why actually I have so much hope for VR.

It won't really do much to make things more exciting honestly. You'll still be playing a game. You still need to just find games that wow you but as you play games for years and years, it tends to happen less unless you really step outside of your comfort zone. I still get wowed by games once in a while just not like when I was a teenager/young boy. That's only human nature though.

We already know just like every other ND release has done Uncharted 4 will set that graphics bar. It has happened every single time since uncharted 2 what makes ppl think it will be aby different lol. Tlg will also be a contender if released this year. Sony always has the top in graphics, so far Drive Club abd The Order hold that title they will pass off.

Any list without ND game is just asking for attention, isnt reliable or just fanboy motivated. Art style you like is subjective but graphic fidelity, what graphics are doing under the hood, effects, etc are not and ND are masters in pushing the boubdary on consoles with Santa Monica, Evolutuon, Guerrila Games and Polyphony just as good or close second. Crytek also always pushes and Quantum Break also seems to look good. Of course some pc titles as well.

No doubt, and even beyond the beauty of the world & the fidelity of the graphics, Naughty Dog are pioneers w/ their physics work, first the water in UC1 that realistically applied & dried from clothing, the snow effects from UC2 that matted to your clothing in a strikingly realistic manner, the fire effects that ate through the chalet in realtime & the sand that whipped and blew around you in the desert, not to mention the completely dynamic movement of an ocean running in realtime during the cruiseship section, & now the amazing mud physic from UC4.

I guess wccftech.com has forgot that Naughty Dog and Uncharted 4 was existing. Same for Ratchet and Clank and Insomniac... These games look far better than most of the games in this list, even if they run only on PS4 and not on a cutting-edge PC.
