Looks cool but Amazon France have been known to goof in the past.
Curious as to why Sony and qd released beyond two souls remaster separately before this collection.

Maybe Beyond was ready for release and Heavy Rain wasn't.

They worked harder on Heavy Rain since its a much older game and i remember QD stating that the engine they used for Beyond was designed for PS4 as well so it was easier to port.

ninsigma3437d ago

Makes sense. Just haven't heard of something like that before. Didn't realise the beyond engine was built for ps4 too. I'm guessing detroit will be using the same engine which great because beyond looked amazing! Detroit so far also looks great.

Here it is..

http://gamerant.com/beyond-...

That is quoting David Cage.

“We were really happy with Heavy Rain at the time, but when we finished the game, when we were done, we thought ‘hey, we can probably go further,’ and we wanted to try new ideas. So the first iteration with this new engine was used on ‘Kara,’ this short that we did, and it was the first time we used this new engine, but the engine has still significantly improved since Kara, to provide really new features – and all this was quite inspired by the development we did on PlayStation 4.”

“Because of our relationship with Sony, we had access to development kits on PlayStation 4 very early on, and we started developing this engine on PlayStation 4 with crazy features that were usually reserved to CG films, and we were implementing them on PlayStation 4, thinking that it would already be a challenge, which it was. But at the same time, we realized that some of these features could be implemented on PlayStation 3. Maybe not with the same high quality known on PlayStation 4, but they could be adapted to a PlayStation 3 platform.”

There is more but you get the idea.

Nice! What I think is great is that even though they aren't a Sony first party studio, they still have such a great relationship with them that they had access to ps4 dev kits early on. An considering they had such an early look at the ps4 I'm really looking forward to what they can achieve with detroit! Thanks for the link man :)

Anytime :)

I am so glad they are making a game bout KARA.

ninsigma3437d ago

Me too. I loved the demo when they released. I cheered when they announced it and then told my gf about it and she was ecstatic xD

RedDevils3437d ago

Yeah I can't wait for it too.

DigitalRaptor3437d ago

Much better!

I'm gonna be waiting until March to pick up this, and as one of my favourite games of last-gen, I'm extremely excited to see what improvements they make to Heavy Rain. The one thing that I think is missing from this sort of release is a director's commentary. I would love to have to seen something like that for both games.

Ever since Heavy Rain, I've been supporting Quantic Dream. They put heart and soul into their work and create art.

That art might not be for everyone, but it's polished, well designed and engaging for those that enjoy it.

I bought Heavy Rain just to play on my brother's PS3 each weekend, travelled home from uni just to finish it. What a great experience!

Cacabunga135d ago

Heavy Rain was a masterpiece and one of my top 3 best PS3 games.
Beyond was solid as well but not as good.
Elliot Page is nonsense 🤦🏻

DafunkyRebel135d ago

JASON JASONNNN yeah that was a great game, wish there was a proper remake

Relientk77135d ago

This is actually my favorite Quantic Dream game. I thought the story, supernatural stuff, and cast was great and super interesting. Hopefully the show will be good.

cthulhucultist134d ago

Same here, This one i liked the most. The variety in scenery and set pieces was refreshing and the supernatural aspect was well executed.

I am a bit biased however because I love all interactive movie like games

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

BLAKHOODe1672d ago

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

sourOG1672d ago

No. Some games are like movies.

medman1671d ago (Edited 1671d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.
