December 2015 NPD: Xenoblade Chronicles X and Devil’s Third sales, LTD Wii U/3DS games

Additional information from the December NPD report has emerged. We have sales for two Wii U titles that debuted in North America, plus lifetime sales for a bunch of 3DS and Wii U titles.

Leaks from NPD reveal that Xenoblade Chronicles X sold over 200,000 copies in the United States last month. Devil’s Third, on the other hand, had sales over 3,000 units. Neither figure includes digital sales.

The same source has also come through with lifetime sales figures for a multitude of 3DS and Wii U titles. The lineup includes Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D (almost at 1 million), Yo-kai Watch, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, Splatoon, Yoshi’s Woolly World, Shovel Knight, and more. Head past the break for the full list.

"Devil’s Third, on the other hand, had sales over 3,000 units."

Ouch!

The Devil's Three Thousand.

Concertoine3115d ago

That's probably what the print was limited to. Wish that was 3k copies of Fatal Frame instead, though...

Errefus3115d ago

ya they didnt print enough copies, and they ignored the game a lot.

Lol, he needs to go back to team Ninja and make another ninja Gaiden game

Sano643115d ago

It's because the didn't print enough copies. The game is going for around $100 USD on Ebay

No wonder about the Devils third, you can't find it anywhere!

Kreisen3115d ago

I wonder what will happen to Itagaki and his studio now. The guy has been working on Devils Third for so many years and god knows how much money they spend on it.

wonderfulmonkeyman3115d ago

Bayonetta situation, or did they only pay for a portion?
I mean, the multiplayer mode is on PC, after all; I can't imagine Nintendo paid for 100% of it if some part of it appeared somewhere outside of Nintendo platforms.

Concertoine3114d ago

I mean it was in development for around 4 years before Nintendo got involved. They switched engines 3 times i think. Development hell destroyed this games potential, it could've been an awesome game looking at the 2010 trailer.

I hope he continue making game. I still respect him for creating DOA series and Ninja Gaiden (No other action game beat NG for Xbox classic i thought).

And i would be disappointed if he ever says...
"I once created the best game in the world, Ninja Gaiden, and i'm gonna make a game completely better than that, on iOS.

Good sales for Xenoblade Chronicles X. Say whatever you want, but we're talking about a core JRPG on Wii U, it's at least a good start.

Devils third has such an mixed reviews from the users..like wow.. from worst game to an amazing one.. i still want to try it and i definitely will in time.. i read its like oldschool as well and doesnt take itself too seriously (hoping for a bit of god hand ps2 wibe as well) :)

It's fun if you like popcorn games. It's a 80s B movie action the game and that can turn people off or on. It's fun and controls well. Boss battles in true fashion of Ig are very hard and the final boss is really cool.
It's not terrible and it's not Bayonetta 2 good either but a fun romp if you turn your brain off.

Venoxn4g3113d ago

thanks for reply.. I think I will get it.. as I like some B movie stuff time to time, with older generation clitches.. I think stuff like Kung Fury movie is awesome (or a game like Far Cry 3:Blood Dragon), if this is at least something like that I will love it.. :)
