Dragon Quest XI is not a PS4 exclusive. Was announced for 3DS as well, and iirc the NX too.

Of course that doesn't take away from the rest of your list - the PS4 has definitely got a solid line-up for this year.

Yeah ps4, just by the sheer amount of games coming in 2016. the diversity within them has something for everyone. Rpg (dragon's quest, nino2, ff7) fighting (sf5, kof), 3rd person shooters (uncharted, ratchet) action/adventure (horizon, tlg, rime) ??? ( I don't know what genre no man's sky and chicago dreams) is but I want them lol...not any fps but 3rd party devs will fill it's usual order with cod, bf5, and tf2...well rounded year indeed.
Ps4 wins but in all honesty there will be something for everyone this year and that's faaaaantastic.

@Zotaku87 The PS4 version and 3DS versions of Dragon Quest XI are quite different. The 3DS version is a top down older-style JRPG while the PS4 version is a third person JRPGG. Also the NX version has not been confirmed, it's basically a rumor.

The quality and quantity of PS4's AAA list makes it unbeatable. They have some genuine game of the year contenders with U4, Horizon and Last guardian.

Nintendo have Zelda which is always a massive deal and should be one of the highest rated games of the generation

This doesn't apply to games that also come out on handhelds. They could never be the same game even if they share a title.

I don't think dlc should be listed at all. . That's like including bloodborne the old hunters as a new title which it clearly isn't.

Win10 is not a platform its a OS. A platform is a standard for the hardware of a computer system, determining what kinds of software it can run.

The PC platform can run all different types of OS. And there has been walk around for the longest time on Windows only games, that you dont have to have windows installed to play them.

As of right now, KI, ReCore, Sea Of Thieves and Halo Wars 2 are the only things I want from MS and they are ALL COMING TO PC!

Thus, I don't actually need to be an XONE to play them, I'm buying them on PC like I would by any other 3rd party game.

I can't find any of Sony's major titles on PC, thus I own a PS4.

Why buy an XONE when several of my most anticipated games from MS are coming straight to PC?

XONE has a good line up, I won't deny that, merely that lots of its best and most exciting are coming to PC anyway.

I don't play the Halo nor Gears series anymore so they are not missed, but those new IPs are something to look forward too, but them coming to PC makes it extremely unlikely I will be getting an XONE this year and with more PC announcements to come from MS, I might as well prepare to not buy one for the whole gen.

Killer instinct season 3 isn't a 2016 game.
It's a dlc for a 2013 launch title.
By your logic cod will have a new game 4 times this year. So will battlefront.
I love KI but let's face it here...its a dlc not a 2014,2015 and 2016 game. This dosent count as an exclusive 2016 game.
Other than that it's a decent anticipated list...not a fan of Zelda or sf5? (Legit question no wrong answer here)

Wait a moment, Ratchet and Clank is a reboot of the series, just like Killer Instinct is.

The difference is that XBox gamers count Killer Instinct every single freaking year lol.

It cannot be anything other than PS4, cause no platform comes close.

Not only does the PS4 have the largest and most diverse lineup of AAA exclusives and otherwise in 2016 (without even giving way to mention all the PSVR games coming this year), but PS4 exclusives are dominating in the "most anticipated" polls and lists all across the interwebs. The same sources that the Xbox loyal are scrambling to cover up, and distract from the conversation despite them being 100% relevant.

PS4's lineup of games simply DWARFS the competition to a degree that it's almost like the competition doesn't exist, but to some people, it's almost like they are trying to pretend this isn't true by introducing embarrassing excuses, by voting down articles, and mentioning "multiconsole" parity as though that makes a difference. PS4 is going to have the most impactful exclusives in 2016, and to that effect, some people are clearly worried.

"Impactful" is unquestionable.

Microsoft doesn't have an exclusive that will be as impactful as UNCHARTED 4 or GRAN TURISMO Sport. They don't have an open-world RPG that can compete with something on the scale of HORIZON: Zero Dawn, since SCALEBOUND was delayed. This isn't opinion.

"No platform comes close" was in sheer number of games and breadth of diversity, not "what certain other people MIGHT think they prefer at this early stage". So again, not opinion.

It's due to my tight budget honestly. I'm trying(and it sucks) to limit myself to three games each platform this year. The games I listed are the ones that came out on top when creating my list. For example, I wouldn't mind playing ReCore, Persona 5, or Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, but I can't afford everything, sadly.
When I actually get money though, you bet I'm getting those games.

Zelda VS uncharted 4 & horizon VS quantum break & recore & cuphead

Have all three systems and will play all games above. Can't say for sure until after all are played. But it looks like Xbox one.

I played rise of the tomb raider day 1 last year when it came out in October. And if it didn't scratch my uncharted itch so well (and then some) I wouldn of been more excited for uncharted 4.

Prior to rise of tomb raider I was saying uncharted 4 day 1. But now I will wait for it to price drop. I wonder is MS knew about this unintended consequence on my part thru some market research.

Not sure how Rise would somehow diminish your anticipation for UC4....if I had the chance to play Rise it would only inflate mine. They are different games w/ similar ideas, they complement each other nicely. I can understand if you prefer TR but to assume that it could somehow be better than UC4 when we haven't played it yet is crazy to me, and I see a lot of people making that leap. Speaking of leaps the reason I'm looking forward to UC4 over Rise is just that, the leap between the Tr games wasn't overwhelmingly significant coming just a couple years on the heels of the previous game w/ few new gameplay features, but UC4 will span a 5 year gap between games, a brand new console w/ no tie to last gen hardware, and the gameplay changes revealed in UC4s demos alone suggest a much more new experience installment over installment than TR to Rise did.

Maybe when positive reviews roll in for Uc4 you will change your tune. Also, RotTR released in Nov, not Oct

Same thing happened last gen. God of war 3 was my most anticipated game after playing and loving God of war 1 and 2 on my ps2. But I happened to play bayonetta before God of war 3 and was so amazed by bayonetta that God of war 3 really fell flat.

Sorry to answer your question more directly. How can playing rise of tomb raider diminish uncharted 4 anticipation? Easy. I was really looking forward to playing a AAA third person action adventure. Lots of my anticipation was wrapped around uncharted 4 as I only had a wii u and ps4. But since I got the Xbox one most recently and played rise the anticipation for uncharted is subdued. Is that really hard to understand?

Ps. Sorry I confused the release date with halo 5 I think. Which was late October right?

For all the flack MS gets with its greatest games line up. It has really been a busy fall/winter with lots of great games. Halo 5. Tomb raider. And Gears ultimate for me. Throw in forza for car heads. And fallout for big RPGs nuts. Rare replay for the retro fans. Really an abundance of great games. And for ppl coming to the system late like myself. I only played sunset over drive and ori recently too.

Yeah it's hard for me to understand...to each their own but I've never pushed off a game I'm highly anticipating solely because I played another I dug that was in a similar vein...games aren't really like beverages for me so I guess I've never quenched my thirst or ruined my appetite by playing a game. I would understand if you were specifically saying that you were excited for any action adventure title, but I don't see how someone can specifically be very excited for UC4, play RotTR & suddenly not care, and if that's the case for you, I can guarantee you are in the minority, because every multi console owner i see on this page only ever admits to being excited for UC4 above all others.

Must have vastly different tastes but these games are different experiences, I don't see any connective tissue between Bayonetta & GoW beyond the hack n slash format but even that is tenuous. I feel bad for you that a game as well received as GoW3 was somehow spoiled for you because you played another hack n slash with a wildly different story & play style, or that UC4 will go unnoticed because you already played an action adventure game. Sounds like you are more interested in playing genres than you are in playing games...more power to you, but it's the nuances that make a satisfying experience for me personally. Good luck with whatever you do decide to pick up but I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that UC4 is a day one for me & I very much look forward to seeing what it has to offer, whether or not RotTR exists or not. End of the day, RotTR timed exclusivity was not enough to get me to buy an XBO but I bought a PS4 solely off of the promise of UC4 & and in particular, because they are that far ahead of every other dev for me, Crystal Dynamics very much included.

Not trying to diminish your love for your XBO but isn't the entire point of being a multi console owner down to playing all exclusives?

Haha that's a big touche, "feeling sorry" might have been a bit much on my end. Honestly for me games like the UC series & GoW 3 were some of my absolute favorite gaming moments last gen, they truly transported me in times when my reality was a bit rough and I know a lot of people got to feel that sense of scale & wonder that those games created and it hit most gamers in the same way, it was just a bummer to think that someone could have those experiences diminished for them. I suppose your big moments were found in Bayonetta & whatever other games you dug though, so just differences in gaming preferences for sure and as long as you were able to have those big moments, that's all that ultimately matters.

I for one may be hinging too much on UC4, I've been waiting for the game for 5 years now & it'll finish off a franchise that brought me back to gaming & helped me out of some rough times w/ addiction, so it's a franchise that I hold near & dear. That said I honestly don't see how ND could let me down, if UC4 is solely more of the same in a shinier wrapper w/ an air of finality to the story, that'd be enough for me, but the fact that it seems to be dealing w/ some other themes that have been recurring through my entire life as an adoptee of blood vs. water, it feels like this installment & series was made solely for me. I guess I just hope that other gamers get to have those feelings & experiences w/ games regardless of who developed it or what console it appears on, as long as people are moved by the experiences they prefer, that's ultimately all that matters.

For those with narrow taste I'd say there's plenty to enjoy on either platform (and there's a lot of people who only get so many games a year).

But PS4 for me just has so much coming that it's easily going to have the best year in my case. SO many games, way more jrpg's to boot!

Buy all three consoles and get what you want when you want. My gaming life has never been so easy. You can play Rise of The Tomb Raider, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Super Mario Maker,. all in the same night. Thats just one prime example of how nice it is. Also, when PSN/Xbox Live is down.....just play on the other service. There goes your outage woes out the door.

I was gonna build a beefy gaming PC, but the cost was insane. I mean $3500 is what I was gonna have in it. Just seemed like alot for one platform. Not only that, when multiplatform games come out, PC is usually behind on the releases date wise. So I went out, got a Wii U, Xbox One with extra 4 TB HDD, PS4 with 2 TB HDD and it was still cheaper than what I was gonna have in building a PC.

The only decision you have to make now is which console your gonna buy multiplatform games on. So here is my rule of thumb. If you have exclusive/timed content for a game I'm probably going with that console. If none of that is in factor, if one console is playing a game at a highier resolution, I'm going with that one. I play on a 55" LED, there is a differecse between 1080p>900p>720p. A subject that "one console owners" are in denial with.

Just stop fighting about who rules who and just have fun.

Console wars do feed the industry though, with out it who knows where the industry would be at today.

You really didn't have to spend 3500 for a gaming PC.. And most games actually do come out day 1 for PC, there are some very notable exceptions though. I think the PC has a lot of great exclusives and there are some games that just aren't the same on console once you get used to playing on PC. At the end of the day my point is that if you are serious enough about gaming to get all the consoles you owe it to yourself to get a gaming PC of some sort.
