Change?? This is pure downgrade!!!

DarkOcelet3450d ago

Its a shame really because one of the reasons i cared about getting this game was its Masterpiece 2013 E3 Visuals.

I hate Ubisoft for deceiving us like that. I really hope modders on PC bring back those beautiful visuals again.

DragoonsScaleLegends3450d ago

The Watch Dogs mod made it look worse in my opinion. Why someone thinks making everything look darker is better is beyond me.

bixxel3450d ago

Yup, first with Watch Dogs, then Assassins Creed, and now The Division. Who likes Ubisoft now!!

Bansai3450d ago (Edited 3450d ago )

The downgrade is real, I wonder though if people are getting accustomed to all the lying and false advertisement, since there's really no butthurt over it like it was in the earlier lifecycle of current gen with titles like Watch Dogs or AC: Unity for example.

glassgannon9093450d ago (Edited 3450d ago )

as expected, it got ubisofted.
next up:
for honor
@WellyUK
so it being ubisoft 9/10 times has nothing to do with it?
and whats powerful ENOUGH. who decides that? the few who own $2500 pcs and refuse to buy games at $60?
If people with POWERFUL ENOUGH machines paid for games relative to their expenditure on their rigs, you wouldnt have to go around being salty like that.

Dee_913450d ago

would any of you pixel counters explain to me the downgrades? Because they both look compressed to hell to me.

Oh wait, is this another one of those, " it looks slightly different so it's downgraded" moments we have so often?

escott0133450d ago

@Bansai,
Me personally...I'm furious, but what can I do about it, beside boycott them? I haven't bought a Ubi game since AC Black Flag.

babadivad3450d ago

This game still looks phenomenal. Also, none of the screenshots are of the same locations shown in the e3 video.

AngelicIceDiamond3450d ago

@Dark The game holds up surprisingly well. The downgrade isn't too bad at best. I applaud Ubi for sticking to there guns graphically while they build the rest and fine tune everything else in the game. Downgrades aren't anything new in a final stages of development. Its how much of a downgrade it is usually the prob.

Mr_GoolyPunch3449d ago

Order 1886? Didnt let us down with graphics but it blew chunks gameplay-wise! Lets hope the gameplay stands up in this though!

_-EDMIX-_3449d ago

Not really, I don't think it was them "deceiving" as much as it was them showing off an early build with not much processing in terms of gameplay features added in, thus they have more processing going into the visuals.

Adding in more and more features and making the game larger clearly is going to effect that.

Its a new IP, they have to market it longer and with much more money then their other established IPs. I have no doubt that on PC they can have it look that way, but I don't think its really THAT big of a deal.

Your still buying a game to actually play...I mean I assume that is the main point to buying a game as suppose to merely looking at it.

It looks different to a degree yes, that degree of difference if it makes someone not buy the game, I question why they were even buying it in the first place..

I'm still getting this game for its core concept regardless of how it looks, I have the option of buying it on PC if I REALLY want those visuals that badly.

mikeslemonade3449d ago

The orginal didn't look that good anyway.

XisThatKid3449d ago

Honestly the game still looks brilliant. Despite whatever"downgrades" . Glad game still looks amazing

wsoutlaw873449d ago

Some people were interested in the game for other reasons than it looked pretty

Happens when consoles aren't powerful enough...

UltraNova3449d ago

So its the consoles fault not the dev's who already knew about console specs but decided to show us a trailer with visuals they knew that they couldn't deliver in the end?

Hmm...yeah lets mindlessly bale the consoles once more.

Lets also forget that Watchdogs never reached that infamous E3 trailer visual fidelity on any ultra PC on release...

Dat logic...

kraenk123449d ago

@UltraNova

Of course devs show their game on the machine with the best visuals?! Where have you been living the last 20 years?!

UltraNova3449d ago

@above

Please read both comments again and get back to me you when you get.

SMH...

rocketpanda3449d ago

No, happens when a developer tries to create hype around a game, but showing off the game on completely different hardware secretly.

The memetic nature of these complaints.

Ubisoft game = downgrade

Now people are yelling "downgrade."

Sharingan_no_Kakashi3450d ago

Honestly, shame on you if you didn't see it coming. It's been the story of Ubisoft since the beginning of this gen. Wow them with pretty target renders, underwhelm with the finished product. And you know it's going to be bugged to high hell when it releases too.

user99502793450d ago

poor comparison shots. Plus the game obviously still looks bloody awesome. And this, being the X1 version, is arguably the worst looking version.

In any case... I expect the sort of people who care too much about graphics to make a big stink over nothing.

Neonridr3449d ago

coming from the guy who is desperately trying to point out that the Xbox One version is going to look the worst..

but you don't care about graphics or anything right?

user99502793449d ago

Why shouldn't I? I'm an Xbox gamer. Comfortable with reality.

frostypants3450d ago

I don't see much to complain about in these images.

The Ubisoft bashers are gonna "see" a downgrade whether or not there actually is one.

ShottyGibs3449d ago (Edited 3449d ago )

Filthy Ubisoft always downgrading from their early builds and too many millennials excusing this practice

kraenk123449d ago

did you even look at the pictures?! explain me where you see a downgrade in these heavily compressed and blurry YouTube screenshots?!

UKmilitia3449d ago

how can anyone compare the 2?
not one picture is in same place
yeah it prob been downgraded as people love to say these days but its been happening for years because sometimes they just cant get enough out the system as had hoped.
end of day if it has lots of content and its fun its worth playing surely???
show me direct screens first though that match location and time!!!!!

TheSaint3449d ago

Agreed, after the micro transaction news as well this game has dipped in a major way.

Are people complaining about graphics downgrades only buying this on console? As far as I know the PC version is going to look fantastic no matter what so I guess i'm not worried.

Nekroo913450d ago

Even if you buy it for PC it's still a console port just like Watch Dogs. So yes you should be worried because its Ubisoft.

RiseofScorpio3450d ago

Asking for special treatment even though it'll sell 10x as much on consoles?

dreadz743450d ago

Playing the Alpha on XB1 it looked so good and was very smooth. I said to myself if it looks so fantastic on XB1 imagine how PC version will look and then I preordered it for PC.This game looks fantastic on XB1 and would be surprised if it's not a DX12 game.

prologic3449d ago

Do some research before you make comments like "its still a console port".

In a blog post expanding on the recently-released Snowdrop game engine tech trailer, below, Massive Entertainment promised PC gamers that their version of The Division won't be a port of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

"As you know, Massive has its roots in PC development," the development team said.

"We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC."

The one and only reason this looks downgraded is because current consoles lack a powerful GPU. With that said, this will probably be the best looking game for the PC this year, beside Doom and maybe a couple other that will utilize DX12.

quaneylfc3450d ago

How dare you say PC games look better than consoel games.....even though they are.....and always will be, how dare you!

quaneylfc3449d ago

Yeah, probably.

Mine can't run anything well, i got Team Fortress at 12fps the other day lol

But the highest spec PC will be rightfully compared to the highest spec of console so a high end gaming PC with 2 Titans vs a PS4...what wins?

As a console gamer, it makes me sad but that is always the way it will go.

decrypt3449d ago

Lol what sort of wooden PC from the 90's are you using that you get 12 fps on Team fortress.

In todays age a PC equipped with a GTX 750ti a 125usd GPU beats the PS4 at this gen best looking game the Witcher 3.

nowitzki20043449d ago

@frosty

Well on my PC it will look twice as good as it will on consoles.

+ Show (1) more replyLast reply 3449d ago
xPaYDaYx3449d ago

The PC version will still be capped at lower than what it was at E3. Sure it'll look a little better than consoles but it'll still look like garbage compared to the E3 demo.

nowitzki20043449d ago

A little better?

I own a ps4 and a rig with a 970... It will look a lot better on PC. Im 100% confident.

DragoonsScaleLegends3450d ago

LOL these comparisons suck ASS, the only one you can even use for real comparison is the first one. All the rest are in different areas acting trying to act like they are the same places. But regardless what do you expect when companies like Ubisoft and Microsoft show off the PC version acting like it's the console version.

Khaotic3450d ago

Yeah cause ubisoft and microsoft are the only ones guilty of shady practices

DragoonsScaleLegends3450d ago

The only ones I know of who have been caught showing PC footage saying it was console footage.

Khaotic3450d ago (Edited 3450d ago )

Dont throw out speculation without links to proof. Im not saying it isnt true but if you cant back it up with more than just "your word" and what you read on the internet, then your just spreading rumors.

And before you bring up watchdogs which we all know. I want more than just that example. And proof of where microsoft has done this.

OC_MurphysLaw3450d ago

**cough, cough Killzone**

on point, I love how up in arms everyone gets over this stuff. The game isn't out yet, at worst you may have put money down on a pre-order which you can get a refunded if you choose to so how is this affecting anyone really? You are seeing what the real game looks like well ahead of its release so there isn't any big surprise as to what it actually looks like. Its just funny so many waste so much energy on something like this.

meche3343450d ago

What about ND with UC4 footage. Rendered in full time on ps4 my a**. It still looks amazing though

jb2273449d ago

@meche

Uh, the cutscenes are all rendered real time in engine, devs already confirmed that. The game has never been downgraded...Please don't post that horrible "comparison" image trying to claim otherwise, because we've all seen it & we are all dumber for having seen it.

L0NGSHOT283450d ago

As long as the game is fun, I don't give a damn.

amargotv3450d ago

ditto my man... and if you played the Alpha, you'll know the game is gonna be fun

quaneylfc3450d ago

Same, stupid magpie gamers going after the shiny shiny.

The Order was pretty, how bad of a game was that?

akurtz3449d ago

if you actually played the order, you would it was a pretty decent game.

xPaYDaYx3449d ago

The Order was actually an amazing game lol. Granted I bought it for 10$ but I would say it was one of the best games of last year.

quaneylfc3449d ago

Akurts, of course i played it, i own it....i still own it actually. I just can't trade it in because I'll get about 1/20th of the original selling price and that is just not worth it.

The game was 55% cutscenes and interactive narrative, when i was walking through the port with the rebel leader i was like...this is a really good game, and then the story magically disappeared and i was left fighting Warewolf....mercenary Vampire hybrids until the wannabe Batman talks to himself on a roof, you can even see where the game was meant to be Co-op due to the lack of main characters in the cutscenes. After the older agent died it just fell and fell hard.

Want to see a graphical downgrade? Just wait until The Order: 1887 comes out....they will have to sacrifice those elements to tac on some actual gameplay.

amargotv3450d ago

i played the Alpha, as i m sure some of you did as well... the game doesn't look that bad, and in all honestly..even if there is a downgrade... you need to remember, the game is HUGE, seamless switching between PVE and PVP.... ONE game loading and then it's seamless play. So many positives, and maybe when they showed us the game way back at E3 2013... their vision of the game wasn't as ambitious as it was today. and i mean i m looking at some of the old pics... some of them don't look too good compared to the new ones. Personally i had a great time playing the Alpha, looking forward to the Beta and the final game come March 8th.

Ashunderfire863450d ago

I played it at E3 last year. The multiplayer mode I played was some control zone mode PVP. It was really intense and fun to play. Man it was worth waiting in a long line! The Division highlight everything I like about E3, but it was Halo 5 line that was literally hard to get into playing Warzone, where their was 2 lines for both red and blue team. Yes the Hololens was at the Halo 5 booth, maybe that's why.

Stop Forcing Multiplayer Into Single Player Games

TIM WHITE WRITES: "Multiplayer or single player? Developers, you can do both, just not willy-nilly."

Flawlessmic808d ago

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

shinoff2183808d ago

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

-Foxtrot807d ago

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno807d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic807d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman807d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon807d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
