If you lump PlayStation VR together with the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, in most ways it's going to come in last.
Thirdverse, the Japan-based VR studio behind Swords of Gargantua, Altair Breaker, and X8, announced that its VR multiplayer JRPG SOUL COVENANT is coming to all major headsets next month. Developed by the core team behind SOUL SACRIFICE (2013), players are thrust into a post-apocalyptic Tokyo in the franchise’s first VR expansion.
Recent findings in the latest PSVR2 software update, indicates that PlayStation is already starting to implement support for PC.
The icing on the cake would be if Sony / Valve allow for a Steam Link app much like it is for the Quest 3. Likely wishful thinking, though.
Viveport, the VR retail platform from HTC is now giving developers 90% of their game revenue, instead of a 70/30 spilt like Steam.
It could be free and it wouldn't matter at this point. There isn't really a PCVR Market and I say that as a PCVR user. It is modders and enthusiasts with a few retail products on Steam.
Good. Maybe most of us can actually afford and get to experience VR this year then.
EDIT: And I find it strange that some complain about the PSVR when comparing it to the Rift. While others thinks it's great. Sites like Tom's Hardware..
Oh boyyyy after all the "really" positive previews from Kotaku, Tomshardware, Polygon and others etc.... and the debate about all the PSVR solutions here comes the smear campaign and downplaying lol hahahahahah
This line right here just kills the whole article for me or credibility.....
"we've seen at least five or six games from Oculus that we believe could be generation-defining experiences. We haven't yet played any PS VR demos that we'd put into that category"
Im not even going to bother but like ive commented in the past tons of articles on the internet about games like "Rigs" that were demoed that stated it was as good or better than demos shown by the other two. In terms of power we all know PC will be stronger but that did not stop Ps3 and ow Ps4 from having games like TLOU, Uncharted, God of War, Bloodborne, and others that are arguably better than anything found on the more powerful PC.
That Oculus and Vive check just came in the mail lol

Note im not saying PSVR is better and nor do most of these articles (although it is in certain respects like comfort, screen door effect (so far) and probably pricing) but this article is giving the notion it really isnt comparable to the other two and thats total bs. They have already demoed games like rigs that are cream of the crop on any VR set up!
