Yeah, I think I'll just wait for that PSVR price instead....

Not sure saying "Everyone" freaked out. Oculus Rift's Day One stock sold out in 14 minutes. So yea.

Enough...OR's target market always was the high end market and not some angry kids on N4G.

SojournUK3446d ago

I'm gonna get the PSVR regardless but here is Sony's chance to play with their profit margin, if they were originally thinking of a break even price point of say £300 they have free reign now to increase it to a 'bargain' price of £400 when compared to the Rift price point.

PaleMoonDeath3446d ago

If PSVR is priced anything like this, I'm leaving it until it drops in price and has more content stocked up.

As appealing as it may be, some of us just haven't that kind of cash to be throwing around, Sony tried it with the PS3 way back, that didn't go so well.

£300 is a sweet spot, still expensive but I could at least get it for Christmas or something.

What were people expecting?

"Here is some brand new tect. Only 50 quid."

kraenk123446d ago (Edited 3446d ago )

Could be they expected what Palmer Luckey himself proposed years ago already...an estimated target price of 350$.
Not saying that was realistic considering the current state of the tech, but there's that.

Vitaguy753446d ago

People are ok with spending 800 quids every year for the new iphone but 600 for something that trully offer a new experience and the internet is on fire?
Lol

Sorry, I dont have $600 laying around.

That's fine. GT7 would overshadow it anyway at it has open wheel and regular cars.

Should have been spending their time updating Squadrons with better resolution, frame rate, haptics, etc as there isn't a game like that on PS VR 2 yet.

But it's EA. They don't think.

Babadook7763d ago

I agree. It would sell better on PSVR2 right now.

Knushwood Butt764d ago (Edited 764d ago )

A wasted opportunity, but I don't buy EA / Codemasters stuff anyway. Grid Legends just came out on Plus and I haven't touched it. Why would I when I have GT7 and PSVR2?

Abnor_Mal764d ago

Not into F1 racing, but still a missed opportunity.

ApocalypseShadow764d ago

That's where opportunity presents itself that they could offer something else that other developers haven't offered yet. Yeah. There's No Man's Sky. But a space game with a story would be great. Like the old days with Colony Wars.

Abnor_Mal764d ago

Exactly, they could have possibly lured more players just from the inclusion of a vr mode.

I miss Colony wars and G-Police, Low-Fi I hope will scratch that itch when it releases. We also need a vr War/Starhawk game.

Knushwood Butt763d ago

Just watched the trailer of Low-Fi. Most definitely on my radar.
