ARK: Survival Evolved Gets More Xbox Servers to Deal with Capacity Problems

ARK: Survival Evolved has been a huge hit on the Xbox Game Preview program, garnering even more players there then it did in its initial release on Steam Early Access. However, with great success comes even greater strain on servers, causing many players on Xbox One to have huge issues playing the game. Those issues might have been solved, or at least partially alleviated as of last night though, as the developer behind ARK have announced that new servers have been added specifically for Xbox One players.

“Xbox Survivors,” reads the tweet, “we hear your requests, and we are adding more servers tonight! Thank you for your continued support and patience.” Fans have reported that they see the new servers already, so they should be up and running at this time. Whether or not these have totally fixed the capacity problems that players have seen before isn’t yet known, but they’ll definitely help.

Its usually a pain in the ass to get into your home server. One of the flaws with the idea that every server unique. Although there is no real way around it if you want a persistent experience.

This game is dope.

This is why it's so awesome playing on PC. My friends and I own our own server and run it privately.

Hard to argue with that.

However, as a console only player (at least during the past two generations) I grew to like to just buy into the console online ecosystems. Yes, i still prefer baby-food jeje

anyways, on point, I played the preview but I am a bit lost as to what to do. I guess I have to invest a few more hours to see if it hooks me.

First thing, it's like Australia. EVERYTHING will try to kill you. Work together with friends. Going it alone is very difficult. Focus on different skills. Your first priority should be making clothes and building fires to keep warm. After that, build shelter to stay in while you're not playing.

You can gather from all bushes. Do that a lot. But remember there is a weight limit.

If you want to ride dinosaurs, focus on a herbivore. Put it to sleep with sleep arrows or narco arrows. I forget what they're called. Once asleep, stay by its side. Put all gathered edible berries in the animals inventory. Keep force feeding narco berries to keep it asleep, while making sure the edible berries stay in its inventory. If those berries run out, you'll lose taking progress. It takes a while, but it's worth it. Once you can make a saddle for it, you're good to go.

This game runs like crap on PC. I would hate to see what the console version is like.
