ZI writes: While many would say Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask are two of the greatest and most timeless games of the Zelda series as a whole, there's no denying that to some people they can be two of the franchise's darkest and scariest games as well. Both games are my favorite entries into the series for this very reason. The darkness of these games gives them a depth that puts them above the rest of the series.
The Skull Kid is one of my favorite characters because he's the kind of villain that you might be able to level with and understand; however, in his shadow is the true darkness of the game: Majora, an entity that uses its mask as a conduit to shape the life of the Skull Kid and use him for evil purposes. In a much different way, Ganondorf shapes the life of Zant through the attraction of power to accomplish his goals and to be able to finally get what he has desired throughout his life. In a way, both Skull Kid and Zant can be considered puppets.
What these two games share is numerous, at least in my opinion: we have darkness, dual antagonists, and of course the hero Link. What we're going to be examining in this editorial are the similarities and differences between Majora and Ganondorf, framing them as the central antagonists of their respective games, as well as puppet masters of their pawns: Zant and the Skull Kid.
Link should have a voice in The Legend of Zelda Movie. While he mostly stays quiet in the games, he canonically does speak but usually holds back on expressing his thoughts. In a movie format, it is better for the character and the story itself that Link speaks.
I just hope it's not a bunch MCU Snarky McJokeface dialog. Started playing veilguard free on PSN (would not recommend) and it's a perfect example of how dialog in contemporary entertainment is garbage.
