Bloodborne doesn't deserve GOTY because it is a re-skinned Dark Souls. The biggest differentiator is the use of guns, and that's it.

Yet other GOTY candidates like Witcher 3, MGS 5, Fallout 4 etc are all just sequels to prior games themselves. Reskins. So what's your point?

No shields has been already compensated with a faster and more agressive combat, and a dash mechanics. I didn't miss shields.

Of all the GOTY contenders, the Witcher 3 plays vary similarly to previous in the series, while Bloodborne is probably the most different. Bloodborne is pretty severely different from the Souls games, actually. It's almost closer to Devil May Cry than it is to a Souls game, but it isn't quite like that either. Honestly, I think Bloodborne's closest analog is probably that it's very similar to what a 3D Castlevania SOTN would be like. MGS5 is decently different from what previous games in the series were like as well. But yeah, Bloodborne has very strong elements of Souls, Castlevania, and DMC. It's a really great game, for me, it takes the best of all those franchises (3 of my faves) and makes it's own mark.

Most times when you hear the term "re-skinned", the user is not to be taken even seriously.

I mean.....would you even care to elaborate of what you mean? Pretty sure games are not made in this copy and paste format or um "re-skinned" lolz.

Rocket League is the shit. Pretty good list. I've been noticing a lot of love for Undertale, but as I understand it, it's probably never going to come to consoles because of the way the saving system works. That's kind of a bummer.

I played it on ps4 too. Graphics were just amazing. My jaw dropped when I reached the second map from the sewers. I'm sure it looks even better on pc.

Dam I want a new resistance. More in the style of the original with dark tones and split screen single player as well.

Heck all games should have split screen sp and mp.
