Game Awards 2015 pulls in 2.3M people, more than 1B Twitter impressions

Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards drew in a crowd of no less than 2.3 million people.

Speaking to Polygon, Keighley said that the success of this year’s show means that the likelihood of them returning next year is high. The 2015 Game Awards brought in 15 per cent more viewers than last year’s event, which saw 2m viewers turning in.

I was one of the people that watched it. They picked a perfect night, because nothing else was on TV, so I just streamed it through my Xbox. I think they must have advertised it more this year than in previous years or something, because I didn't tune in last year.

Are people really crying cause there was a bunch of trailers. How can you not see that as a good thing. Am I missing something

The show is called "The Game Awards." Having less time for actual awards, is basically what everyone is getting upset at. Not just us, but most people who actually cared about the event.

TGA 2023 Felt Like A Successor To E3, For Better or Worse

A lot of substance, not enough respect.

i dont quite understand what people want this award show to be ?
a ridiculous woke environmental climate friendly show or a show about videogames?

not everything needs to be addressed. most people dont know the ins and outs of everything going on in the industry and therefore dont rly care all too much.

lets focus on the games and not on specific groups of people alone.

I would take an hour of gameplay and in game trailers, and an hour of interviews and award acceptance. They need to strip out all of the other nonsense. This event should not just be one long advertisement, they have already raided our wallets. Shows like this are supposed to be for the gamers and the culture of the industry.

gold_drake133d ago (Edited 133d ago )

sure but what kind of advertisement, besides hamepass haha, did we see?

we saw alot of awards being given out, loads of trailers etc.
ok, to your point, we saw an ad for the fallout show.

i agree on the celebrity thing, there was literally no need for some of them to ve there. at all lol.

but other than that ... comedy stuff wasnt rly advertisement.

anast133d ago (Edited 133d ago )

They need to show gameplay, most trailers are adverts for preorders. One example is that Banishers advert trying to sell the collectors edition plastic statue.

Well, if E3 is really dead, TGA will obviously take its place.

BrainSyphoned133d ago

I watched the MW3 joke and then a compilation of the trailers. E3 I'd at least watch a few showcases. They both are mostly irrelevant.
PS and Nintendo show off what they have made in their own videos. Xbox lets us know what they have bought/monopolized monthly for game pass, you don't need anything more than that.

Jingsing133d ago

It is Geoff Keighleys vanity show, stopped watching it years ago.

TRASH TRASH TRASH
Bring E3 back and all is good

JK does both GA & GF for his own self profit
Jeff could not find another job if he tried - the very green production is always off and has major problems
Kill both shows and the world will be in a better place !
