You've probably heard about Sid Meier's Civilization, the iconic turn-based strategy series. And you've also probably heard of Sid Meier's Pirates! and Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon. However, you may not have heard of Sid Meier's Colonization, his 1994 game about the European colonization of the Americas. Whether it’s due to the more cerebral, measured gameplay, or — more likely — the crucial importance of mouse controls, the jump to other platforms is rarely successful. Despite their large market share and stable, unchanging hardware, consoles struggle to sustain a pure strategy game."
