The reasons not to buy (yet):

1. No Dual Shock 3 included in the package (rumble was a last gen feature right SONY???)

2. No HD cable included in the package (lame. HD gaming starts with... a COMPOSITE cable Sony???)

3. The delayment of too many games that gives a lack in many genres nowadays, close to 2 years after its launch its a shooter console like the XBOX 1 was last gen. In racing genre only a GT5 demo, no real great exclusive racer. RPG's, all the (J)RPG's released and announced are on the 360. The wait for GT5, KZ2, God of War III or even Home is just too long

4. The delayment of matching XBL, which Sony promised would give the exact same stuff from launch PS3, it still doesn't or is gimped working in one game, but not the other.

5. Price, seeing the 360 Premium for 269 gives the same if not better experience, the PS3 price should drop to 300 Euro

6. The promise of Sony to give white and silver PS3's @ E3 2005. Where are those Sony???

1. Well the DS3 is now included in all the future consoles. They are phasing out the normal SIXAXIS's'sss'ss.

2. Yeah, they should include a $10 monoprice HDMI cable. I also wonder what the fudge Sony was thinking boxing in composite cables.

3. The wait is almost over. But there's plenty of good games to play right now. Uncharted, Ratchet, MGS4, GT5 Prologue (only for hardcore racing fans I suppose), and a host of other multiplatform games like COD4, Battlefield, RBSV2, GRID, etc.

4. XBL has been around since the original Xbox and pioneered home console online gaming. So it's a no brainer that PSN isn't up to snuff. And honestly, how could you of all people who don't have a PS3 say that it works for one game but not the other? I suppose you mean trophies, which is something that's just recently implemented. But as far as online goes, it's all moot because it's Free. You can still play online games, which is the #1 most important feature.

5. Price was a big factor, but you pay for reliable hardware, a future proof blu-ray player, and of course the games.

6. Sony never promised any other color PS3s except in Japan.

Still my point stands: 360 has games in all genres, Sony still misses out. You give a couple of shooters/hack&slash and only one surprising one LBP. You're still missing the exclusive no demo racer and (J)RPG's the 360 has.

Yes its irrelevant because I play for 99% the best multiplatforms on my 360. Plus, 99,9% of the games is on one DL-DVD. Not too mention it makes the console more expensive with BR. Last but not least: all games run slower on the PS3/BR, thats why the forced installs are there. What to do with a 40GB PS3 after you bought a few games? You need to fork out another 100 bucks to get another HDD... So the PS3 costs 500 bucks at least.

Well, because for that 5 bucks I pay now I get a premium service. With 5 bucks a month for a PS3 I don't get the game experience the 360 is giving me. I just won't pay over 300 bucks for the PS3, so @ 400 bucks now its certainly a no go.

So YES you do pay for it. In the high starting price. 600 Euro at launch, 400 Euro now. Thats because of BluRay, WiFi and other extras I don't need. Otherwise the PS3 would be at the 360's pricelevel nowadays. So you don't pay for a seperate WiFi unit, you pay for it being build in but I won't need it....

Ask him which MFR Date he has and when he had the repair. Problems mostly are on MFR Dates before May 2007 and with repairs before that time. Furthermore, the newest motherboards for repairs are only used now for a couple of weeks. Make his 360 go RROD by wrapping it in towels and send it in before the warranty is over ;-)

Soft side by reviewers? Come on. So MS paid every reviewer out there? Nope. Those scores on Ratchet, etc. aren't strange, just reality. The 360 also has many games with just a few points off 90. They're just games just below Great AAA.

Thats not my point: check out disc reads from multiplats that run side by side on PS3 and 360. The PS3 is far, far behind. With exclusives on Uncharted yes, they program around the slow BluRay in a smart way. Still it reads too slow.

With digital downloading on games, cutting marketing and distribution costs I bet the price of full games could go down

1. Dualshock 3's are now being included. Sixaxis is being removed from the bundle.

2. Microsoft doesnt Include HDMI cables with their Arcade either. Infact, they make you buy their own overpriced cable that allows you to use HDMI when you should be able to use any normal HDMI cable. Hows paying $35 bucks for an HDMI Cable? 3. The wait for games is too long? Oh well guess what, PS3 owners can play many AAA titles like Warhawk, Uncharted, MGS4, GTP5, and PSN titles like Pixel Junk Eden. While you get all of your games right away, the 360's 2009 lineup is very slim. I guess in 2009 you'll be okay with waiting for games right idiot?

4. Who the hell cares? Sony gives you a service that is very close, if not on par, to a service that YOU have to PAY for. In fact, some say that the trophy system is better than the achievements, so Sony waited to give its customers something better, rather than just copying the LIVE template. Boohoo.

5. The PS3 gets you Built in WiFi, Bluetooth, BLU RAY CAPABILITIES (Usually $400 by itself), Free online service for $100 more. In reality, PS3 has the better pricing. In order to match what the PS3 gives you with the initial price tag on the 360, you'd end up having to pay more.

6. Their in Asia, Sony didnt give up on that promise. Who the f*ck cares about System Color anyways?

I had never owned a home Playstation console until the PS3 and been an Xbox user for years but two red rings of death and a DVD drive that couldn't hack the pace of more than a 5 lap race in Forza 2 made me decide to switch. Sony's hardware is much more robust, better quality but should you run into a problem the average time for a courier to turn up at your door with a new one is 48 hours, compare that to the poor XBOX method of sending you a box and making you send it in yourself. PSN is free and also has a better selection of games than the XBLA. A strong lineup for 2008/2009 was also another big reason for making the switch.

so far, i've been proven more right than wrong in choosing the PS3 as my first next gen console purchase (i got a 360 about a year later; i currently have no plans to buy a Wii. not until they release a "Wii HD," so it doesn't look like @ss on my HDTV), and it improves on a monthly basis, as does it's games.

how many people that have beaten a game like Mass Effect went back and played it again and again, even if they've unlocked everything? i beat Uncharted 6 times, and yet i'm playing through it again for the Trophies, although i already got all the medals, and it's like a playing it for the first time. sort of. i'm insanely good at the game, which wasn't the case when i first played it, but still.

I havn t pick up a PS3 yet due to $$$ when it 1st came out it was far to expensive for me to afford but that wasn t the reason for me to pick up a 360 either my friend offered me his 360 for a price no one would say no to so i pick it up... Sony has always been my prefered system not to say the 360 doesn t have a few good games that are to my taste but i feel the PS3 is the better system and has more to grow with in terms of future use

ex.) Fighting the Leviathon on Resistance 2. You can record yourself fighting and beating down that monster and save it either to your hard drive or to your Home Space.

I bought my PS3 for games but being able to watch Blu-ray movies and play Blu-ray games is a bonus.

At this point on most developers are gonna work on the PS3 and drop the 360 for making and porting games so your better off to stick w/ the future and the long run by just buying the PS3.

9.)Reliability:
RROD on the 360 is horrible and eventually people are gonna tire of constantly fixing it or turning it in to repair.
Which means that people are gonna buy a PS3.

10.) Pricing:
We all know pricing plays a big deal in whatever we buy and PS3 is now affordable then it once was.
Even w/ the 360's Fall Price Drop the PS3 w/ only be $100 or $50 depending on what model you get.
360 Pro: $300
60Gb 360 Premium: $350
120Gb 360 Elite: $400
and
New 80Gb PS3: $400
I know the PS3 may not have that much memory compared to the Elite but the PS3 is the only console that can upgrade your hard drive and the 360 can't.
Spend $80 get a 250Gb Hard Drive for your PS3 spend $180 get a 120Gb hard drive for your 360.
For that $180 you've spent to buy that 120GB hard drive I could purchase a 500GB hard drive for that amount.
All the way up to a 1,000Gb Hard Drive or 1TB you can upgrade your hard drive to on the PS3.
PS3 has Built in Wi-Fi 360 doesn't. 360 it'll cost you another $100.
If you get a PS3 you won't get nickel and dimed for add ons on the 360 you will get hustled.

There's just no reason anymore to get a 360.
Those 360 exclusives:

i had intentions on owning all 3 current gen systems.

was going to buy the early 2008. but after my 360 dvd drive failed twice by oct/nov 2007. i bought the ps3 during that time.

i weighed up the totalcosts of ps3 and 360 before reading fault reports and system specs and ps3 even at 400£ came out cheaper then xbox priemium
