Today Square Enix announced with a press release that Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness has been delayed by about a month.
I really want Square Enix to release the PS3 version in western markets. Bandai Namco will do that for Tales of Berseria, so I don't see why Square Enix can't for Star Ocean 5
@Fallen where is the news that it's coming to NA for the tales game because i thought i read news that it's not coming to NA? If I am wrong it would make for some great news.
I just hope the game's western release isn't too far away from the Japanese release.
Real talk if they can fix that creepiness aspect on the main female character face, then I truly do not mind a delay in the game. Actually the creepiness faces in general.
They went a little too anime, the translation to 3D does not work well.
This doesn't bode well, as SO3 and SO4 were apparently deemed good enough NOT to be delayed.
they should make exploration more interactive and dyamic instead of just focusing on the battle system. I'd like some climbing and jumping as well as destructable environment
Man, it seems like every game is getting delayed these days...Sometimes I wish devs would announce all of their games 1-2 months before release, so they'd be ready when they promise to release their games.
1-2 months won't work. 6 months is the least number of months a game needs to get more publicity.
1-2 months was kind of a exaggeration, my point was games shouldn't be announced so early in development.
I prefer to have games delayed than have them released on time full of glitches like Assassin's Creed, or have content left out of the game and sold to us as DLC like Battlefront.
I agree, but it's not like these delays are happening to games that are announced close to release...these delays are happening to games announced years in advance. Devs should take all the time they need, but if they aren't close to release they shouldn't announce it.
This isn't a really bad delay, only a month. Plus they most likely wanted to avoid coming out when Street Fighter 5 came out which is around the same time. Maybe they have learned a lesson or two from the whole Tomb Raider incident!
I'm actually pretty happy about this. Star Ocean is my favorite series. I want it to be the best as it will be the RPG I play the most this gen.
Hope it's amazing
Very seldom do games get delayed at this stage for a reason none other than 1) it needs graphical optimization, or more likely 2) the content overall is bad and they try to save it by doing some last minute changes. I suspect both. The game has 6/10 and 7/10 written all over it, sadly. Star Ocean 2 is one of my favorite games ever. Third one was good, too. Fourth... well, the story, characters, voice-overs, dialogue ... pretty much everything but music, fighting and RPG system were horrible. This time the characters look atrocious. I would take the new Valkyria Chronicles game over this anyday. Star Ocean games need a bigger budget and more development time. And much better writing, character models aaand voice-overs.
