The director of the new open world JRPG game "Xenoblade Chronicles X" explains in an interview the goal the team at Monolith Soft had when producing their latest work.
A Xenoblade Chronicles PC port has been listed by Microsoft as an officially supported Microsoft Game Assist title.
Hmmm interesting. Hopefully true, liking the slowly but surely partnership between the big 3. Just imagine all the xenoblade games officially on pc. I think mcsft going 3rd party but still making consoles fits them.
The ill-fated Wii U sold very few units, so it is understandable if you missed out on Xenoblade Chronicles X, here are 9 reasons why you should play the Definitive Edition.
I bought it thinking it was like the trilogy and expansion on Switch. I played it for 15 or so hours and stopped. Couldn't get into it, the gameplay was not like the previous ones, it was not what I expected.😕
Greatest RPG ever except end game makes it impossible to complete for anyone who focused on mech battles. Do not focus on mechs or you will be disappointed
Netto's Game Room explains how the Xenoblade titles are connected to each other; from Xenoblade Chronicles, to the newly released Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition, and even Xenogears and Xenosaga.
1 - 3 are connected. Idk if X is connected since I haven't beaten the epilogue in X yet. X will probably be connected.
I think Monolith Soft has made great strides towards that goal, at the very least.
Making a world this huge, which was formally untouched by humanity, still have so much variety in native lifeforms, that go about their days hunting each other down, foraging, etc, actually makes this feel like a living breathing world.
Running around this world feels much like a safari, although you actually fight against the animals in this case.XD
Having the Skells to use to explore the world, and making everything seamless, with no load times between continents, really pounds the point home that this world is interconnected, living, and exciting to explore.
Outside of the BLADE barracks, fast-travel, and cut-scenes, you'll never see a loading screen in gameplay, and that does add a LOT to the overall feel of the experience of exploring this vast, open world.
I'd love to see them accomplish the same thing again, but with a bigger emphasis on main story, the next time they make an RPG.
They've proven that they've got a trust-worthy pedigree when it comes to making high-quality JRPG's.
"..team aimed for the next 'evolution in Censoring'" ROFL
