20th-anniversary 'Madden NFL' is better than ever

When Electronic Arts announced the retired Brett Favre as its 20th anniversary cover boy, it looked like the notorious "Madden" curse - which had mangled the careers of Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb and Shaun Alexander - was finally broken.

But when Favre decided to play again and was traded from the Packers to the New York Jets, it looked like the Curse simply reversed onto EA itself.

I'm actually pretty excited about this Madden... will be the first I have bought since 06.

I will DEFINITELY be keeping the rewinds on 0 though haha... none of that crap in my house.

I hear ya Pistol. I was skeptical from the demo. But the more I hear how good it is the more likely I am to get it. I like yourself havent bought madden since 06. I had every one since the first one so I'm hoping this one turns out really good.

I used to be a Madden zombie- bought it every year since '92. The streak ended last year as it really seemed as if EA had taken the year off. I was thinking if I didn't buy it, I'm sure there are loads of people that actually THINK about their purchases (as opposed to blindly plunking dollars down like me) who also left it on the shelf. Hopefully EA got the message. I've got a feeling it will be worthwhile this year.

Regardless, look for the game in bargain bins for $10 in about six months. Sports games have little to no longevity.
