PixelJunk Eden is far from perfect. It's exhausting, it's cruel and the control system could have done with some tweaking - the lack of in-air mobility really seems unfair. But there are also a lot of things it does right: it's truly original; it's got buckets of style; it allows three players to work together at once. Best of all, it's got a built-in video recorder that helps you film your acrobatics and upload them to YouTube. And for pity's sake, it'll only cost you a measly, snivelling £4.99 - that and a whole load of blood, sweat and tears. You owe it to yourself to at least give it a go.

If you know anything about Q-Games, you know that we made a name for ourselves during the PlayStation 3 era with our acclaimed PixelJunk series. Debuting way back in 2007, we were one of the first indies to cut our teeth on the newly released console. Our idea for the series was simple: rework old school gaming concepts in beautiful high-definition visuals, while keeping the easy to learn, difficult to master gameplay that made us fall in love with games in the first place.
indiePub has published its weekly update of new and notable indie games on the Playstation Store Indie Games Channel.
Best bets this week include: Pixel Junk Eden, where you explore a gorgeous world; Do Not Fall, an intense action/platformer; Farming Simulator, where you must grow and maintain crops; Total Recoil, a fun, explosive arcade shooter; Kung Fu Rabbit, where you must save your disciples with your combat prowess, and Men’s Room Mayhem, where you become the janitor of a men’s room.
PSU takes a look at game developers that brought us great games this console generation, but didn't get the attention they deserved.
i give it a 8.5/10
Its the sort of game i play to kill 20min here and there. For 10 bucks its well worth it
I would give it a 9.0- The criticisms I seem to be reading are made possibly without enough play time.
"....and the control system could have done with some tweaking - the lack of in-air mobility really seems unfair."
I have just learned in this game if you can imagine your little grimp going somewhere.... it can go there. Last night I was pulling off jumps that were unbelievable, what with the ability to turn and roll in air (reminds me of tetris) the thing is you have to use the "flow" of the air, the movement of the plants, the arch or your swing, even the point of release and how much silk you have seems to make a difference.
I think once there's enough people that are fully comfortable playing this game is when people will see how much this game can shine. Just watch a video on youtube of some "eden freak" and you will see that this game is more of your style then it is about "beating" it.
