The world they build for GTA6 won't look as good visually as Spiderman 2, it's just not physically possible, AI or not.
Why not? Spider-Man 2 is based off of geometry and animation systems created initially for Spider-Man 2018. It has baked lighting for different times of day as opposed to real-time global illumination.
RDR2 looks unbelievable for a last-generation title and they do have Ray Tracing in the 60fps mode for GTA V on current gen; they both have real-time lighting; there's no reason to immediately shoot down a Rockstar title before you even see it
Some may not want self aware robots/AI but I do, and so do many others. The faster the better, as it will help with curing diseases among many other things. The world will change hopefully mostly for the better, because right now it's heading down the toilet with all the wars and authoritarian snowflake crap ramping up.

You can argue that this may cut jobs all day long, but what tech advancement throughout the ages hasn't seen jobs disappear?

I'll give you a moment to correct this line of thinking.
It's still bad, it doesn't have to do with who is doing it. It's going to cause massive loss of jobs, and if you think AI can make more interesting/contextually relevant NPC's than a human you're going to be wrong.
All you're going to end up with is NPC AI profile 7 in every game.
And even though these companies are talking about AI just for simple things it's obvious the long term goal is to get rid of writers voice actors even artists.
It's all or nothing, the suits want all... because they don't care about anything but money. They happily fire thousands of people while collecting record profits.
You're better off listening to developers and engineers than suits. "AI" as it currently stands is fucking shit. AI is a damn strong word to use for machine learning.

I disagree, with lots of people having big digital game libraries it's more of a must have than ever before, if the big guns are gonna kep pushing digital I think BC is the least we can expect.
But of course this guy will say this when rockstar are about to release a no effort port of RDR at a higher orice than it should be.
as much as I appreciate, and have enjoyed having a Switch... if they don't offer bc I will wait out their next gen console and buy it only when there are enough games to where I feel I need to own it. The simple fact is that these consoles are going to inevitably die, and having newer, and newer hardware that plays these games is so much more than merely a benefit. It's a lifeline to your own gaming library.
Sooner or later RDR will be on sale for $15 or $20 so just wait it out. You don't have run out and buy it day one, besides, why not wait for user reviews first?
And I also agree with you about the importance of BC. I have hundreds of digital games , some are also trapped on the ps3 which irritates me. It would be nice if Sony actually worked on a fix to get ps3 games BC with ps5 but we all know Sony isn't willing to do that.
fully agreed if Sony or Nintendo don't fully support their digital stores and bc going forward I will be purchasing all games on PC. I have no problem waiting to buy a used Playstation or switch with used exclusives.
All I know is moving forward all games from ps4/Xbox one till present and future better be BC. Since they are all using similar specs and hardware

Not many signs point to buying digital as a wise investment. The sheer fact that the big companies want you to go digital should be enough to make you reconsider let alone all the other incentives.

I doubt it'd be redundant, there are 120 millions ps4s floating out there. That's where their gonna make there money , more so then ps5.
And how many original owners are there? I got rid of mine and I know many people traded in for deals on ps5's.

Another reason I enjoy pc. I can play games from any generation without having to hope console makers give a necessary feature like bc. It is 100% a needed feature and there’s many ps4 games that could get fps/res boost especially with new games now needing longer dev cycles.

It’s not 2005 pc gaming is as easy as consoles. I update my driver once every few months with no issues and configure files? You don’t need to configure files for any games what are you on about? This is why console fanboys are the worst because they are so damn ignorant.
