Telltale Games and HBO Global Licensing today announced that the critically-acclaimed Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series is now available at retailers as a disc release on game consoles and PC.
This should sell as there are SO many people who still love physical discs for games.
Yup, always prefer a physical copy! Definitely gonna pick this up now.
Not if the whole game isn't on the disc. Did Telltale decide to put the 6th episode on the disc after all?
That's what I was wondering. Where's episode 6?
I love this series!
Damn fallout, taking over my life! I want this so badly
Now there is a Telltale series I would love to see.
Oh i want this if its an easy platinum like Tales from the Borderlands was!
It is... finish it... that's all.
Been playing digitally for a couple weeks... done with episode 2. It's my first telltale game. Very different form of game but it's alright. Are there any "telltale" games that are inherently better than another? I know Walking Dead is highly praised. Picked up season 2 for free but never played season 1. GoT Telltale is a nice take on the series but I feel that, since the GoT series and Fire/Ice books are so dense, that my story doesn't really matter and it's more of... "yep, Ramsay's messed up and bad stuff happens to everyone", same ol same ol Westeros. I would enjoy a game where I felt like my story mattered to the universe as a whole.
The Walking Dead Season 1 is great also, I suggest you play that first. Some moments in season 2 are much better knowing things from season 1. Choices don't fully carry over per say but it's a better experience. However if you really want to pop into season 2 then go for it, this is just from my experience. I highly recommend The Wolf Among Us. Also one of telltale's best in my opinion. Could also be because I'm a fan of noir detective style games/movies :P. I've played every telltale game after The Walking Dead season 1 (haven't played their old games) except for GoT and in my opinion The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us stand out the most. Unfortunately you'll sometimes feel like your choices don't matter because that has been a problem in Telltale games. The choices you make often end up at the same result in the long run, but it's really about the journey and they definitely do a good job of creating the illusion that your choices do matter. It seems like with their recent games they're trying to change this though.
I've only played episodes 1-4 but it's my least favourite series so far. It's still enjoyable, but after reading the books and seeing the tv show, it kind of takes the fun out of it.
I might check this out.. I've played Back to the Future, TWD 1 & 2 & 400 Days, The Wolf Among Us and Tales from Borderlands
How is back to the future? I need to get Wolf Among Us but have played all the others.
I liked it a lot. I played it a few years ago on PS3 one month when they made it free for the PS+. It's different from most Telltale Games in terms of the trophies but the main style of game/gameplay is the same.. A lot of replaying episodes or using a walkthrough to make sure you get them all. I think Michael J. Fox even came back to voice Marty for one of the episodes (I don't think he voiced him in all the episodes but I could be wrong) There is also things you'll enjoy if you liked the movies.
another good episodic game that came out this year is King's Quest (The OddGentlemen/Sierra Games). it's pretty much the same style as the TellTale Games except more puzzles to figure out and not as straight forward. The 2nd episode should be coming out sometime pretty soon.
