Star Wars Battlefront Review l Destructoid

Destructoid: My main problem with Star Wars Battlefront is how arcadey the game feels, when it's very clear DICE is trying to push a fully-fledged shooter on you. The end result is a Frankenstein's monster of sorts, with a lot of fun bits, and some elements of overproduction and bloat fixed in to boot.

Star Wars Battlefront feels authentic in many ways, but that authenticity is aggressively pursued at the cost of gameplay, and is often tacked-on. If you're in the mood for a relatively shallow shooter with caveats you likely won't be disappointed, but I wish that DICE had a little more time to polish it and add more substance

Yeah I was hyped for a starw wars game... this ain't it brah

fastNslowww1067d ago (Edited 1067d ago )

Just one review....brah!

_-EDMIX-_1067d ago

Agreed, its also a review by Destrucitoid, they are sorta known for giving low scores, not sure if they hate everything or for the clicks lol

They gave Fallout 4 a 7.

I also never deem my purchases based on reviews. Only time I do that is with a unknown series or something that is really niche that I'm unaware of and want more information on, but anyone say its bad, good etc doesn't change jack for me.

So thankful for ea access. This game is shallow

CKPan1067d ago

No, it's not shallow, wait till all season pass contents fill in, it's like Destiny, you have to wait for a complete game 6 months after its release, will that be cool?

lunatic00011067d ago

I want to get it but damn 50 bucks for the season pass...I want it...its just too much money for some one who barely makes ends meet...hope everyone who bought it is enjoying it...I will have to wait to the complete game comes out...not because I want to but because I have to

CKPan1067d ago

Where the disagrees came from? I thought we all love season pass, because we all did buy them, that's why EA keeps it coming, come on admit it, we love a skeleton game with season pass.

Plagasx1067d ago

Jesus christ. Probably the biggest disappointment of the year so far.

Black0ut1067d ago

I have to agree with you there =(

It will obviously sell HUGE numbers though, being star wars and all.

Casual aren't stupid, but at the same time they just don't know any better, because they're simply not in touch with the core community so it's up to people like us to educate them and our friends to prevent things like this from happening.

They will buy it simply because it's a FPS, it's being heavily advertised, and the graphics are easily some of the best this gen.

Add the Star Wars label on that, and it's going to find a casual audience, of I'd say 4m and 2m on PS4 / XBO.

I don't think it's a bad game, but it's completely lacking in content, maps, and with the $50 DLC trying to fill the void, I can't justify this to anybody.

It's also unfortunate that there were a lot of PS4 bundle pre-orders for this game, but at least the console looks good, and they can sell the game if they don't want it.

Battlefront is basically the multiplayer version of The Order. Presentation is perfect but shallow on gameplay. I'd rather have an ugly looking game like Fallout 4 which has stuff to do.

EazyC1067d ago

Fallout 4 looks average and in some parts rather lovely. I think 'ugly' is a bit over the top!

Also, this is disappointing but I looked at their other reviews and damn! Destructoid are seriously tough markers

sparced1067d ago

Fallout 4 is the least looking current generation game and taking that crown two years into the console is a poor achievement. Destructoid, Videogamer, Gametrailers they're the sites you can trust.

JeffGUNZ1067d ago

Yes, Fallout 4 looks last gen graphically, but the CONTENT is why it isn't looking like Battlefront visually. I agree with you there, but I don't think it's "ugly", just last gen like. visually.
